Re: Is Pakistan finished?
MQM has developed Karachi into a world class city so there is no reason to hate MQM. Non Karachittes can show their ignorance towards MQM but the truth is that MQM has done great great stuff for Karachi.

Re: Is Pakistan finished?
yes the whole city floods and turns into a giant sewer when it rains... and more people die in target killings in Karachi than apparently those that get killed by the taliban.
so yeah great development. world class indeed.
Muttahida Qaatil Mafia is nothing but a secular terrorist organization based on an ideology of racism and hatred.
Re: Is Pakistan finished?
Pakistan merging with Hindustan? Good one!![]()
I for once think Pakistan is headed in the right direction. A bloody revolution!
Re: Is Pakistan finished?
man if you’re so embarrassed of being a Muttahida qaatil movement supporter that you won’t even admit that you are one in this forum (while you defend Muttahida Qaatil Movement in the PA forum), why don’t you leave the mafia?

A hope for the freedom and betterment is better than the thoughts of slavery and giving in.

Re: Is Pakistan finished?
The floods have left more than 20 million people affected. Over $15 billion of damage. Infrastructure is gone, roads and houses wiped off. Over $1 billion of crops gone. Leaves me thinking how are we going to survive after these floods? This happened to us in 1970 when cyclone bhola hit east pakistan leaving more than 300,000 dead and the government didn't do anything to help just like right now and it resulted in a bloody liberation war. It just concerns me that Pakistan is in the worst shape ever and were pretty much finished.
If roads and infrastructure were the only criteria for survival of any state, then there wouldn't be a single country surviving in Africa or they would not be created in the first place.
The damage is nothing compared to what resources Pakistan is still left with even after floods.
The only threat to Pakistan is the way Pakistanis think about their own country. Thoughts like yours are the real damage this country has to face.
Re: Is Pakistan finished?
I think this thread should be closed....there is no point of opening this thread at this time when Pakistan is in serious trouble

Alhumdolillah, I have firm believe that current Pakistan can't be broken on ethnic/religious lines but yes Natural Disaster on this scale does provide some gloomy insight into the future. But we do have some positives.
15$ bn is just 3 % of GDP, the resources are not the problem, the problem is the scale of effected areas. Government is working up to it's limit, i will give that credit. Armed Services are going further then their resources. If you don't know, this is the 8th or 6th largest Flood ever in the recorded history. UN call it the "Earth Emergency".
Some points...
1) Flood planning system which built during the British Raj and expanded under the state of Pakistan did work. Not even a single population center for example: Peshawar, Isb/Rwp, Gujrat, Lahore, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Sukkar, Hyderabad got effected except suburbs.
2) 95% of the effected people were already living on 1$ a day, average worth of the person wasn't more then a cattle + a year worth of wheat. Majority of the people don't even own a "Pakka" home at all.
3) Infrastructure damage is overwhelming, specially in KP & Southern Punjab. 2/3 $bn approximatively.
4) Crops damage is overwhelming, our fruit basket (Malakand Division), Rice/Wheat (Faisalabad, Multan) Cotton (Bahawalpur) is gone.
Why we will survive, and become more stronger:
1) 20 million effected people will be documented for first time by NADRA or other agencies.
2) Total damage is 15/20 $ bn as of now, Pakistan current Foreign Reserve's stand's at 16.5$ bn as of today. 650 billion RS are in government accounts for development year 2010. If you didn't notice the stock market actually went up in last three weeks, their is a reason for that. $ is stable compare to RS, which is another good sign.
3) Our Financial sector is standing on very powerful foundation's, just check out the last 2 weeks of bank quarter ending statements - all the banks made billions in profit. Banks can start providing loans on very low interest and even government can take more local debt if funds from foreign sources are not available.
4) This is once in a life time opportunity to rebuild planned Pakistan from top to down.
5) Our food reserves are enough for more then a year, it's sufficient time for new bumper crops.
6) Water level around the Pakistan is filled again to the top, whatever we use in 60 years its filled back to pre-partition levels.
..
i can keep going and going ... so let me finish here by quoting dad "the nation of Pakistan has shock absorbers placed by the Allah, it already taken the shock of Flood"

This would all be fine if we had a sincere and non corrupt President. But lets hope for the best.
Re: Is Pakistan finished?
All the fancy shmacny talk and numbers aside, Pakistan will play a major role in the khilafat movement, very very soon. That will involve bloodshed unless the world welcomes it. Then those secular coconuts can run back to their bankrupt masters and stay there for good slaving away inshallah!
Re: Is Pakistan finished?
Focus on your studies kid, then you can dream about secular coconuts.
Re: Is Pakistan finished?
:k:
Re: Is Pakistan finished?
khilafat movement... lol. LOL... hahahah
knew you were an MSA khalifa boy. you've got all the classic symptoms. so, which school do you go to? Concordia, McGill? which one?
I've seen plenty like you in the MSA when I was in school a long time ago. idiots who failed first year over and over again... but who wanted to wanted to fight for khilafat and idolized the taliban.
anyway, so you live in hedonistic Montreal and pine for khilafat, shariat, etc? I mean if the shariat stuff is so great move to Saudi Arabia, why don't you? why live in Montreal with its clubs, bars and beautiful french women? astaghfirullah.
