Actually I will second the decision of Pakistani Govt.
But govt. have to barb wire the durand line, to cut the supply line of these extermist elements, and should adopt or utilize the technology as much as possible, the operation should be swift.

The army & the ISI are playing game on both sides & the only way govt will do something is if the US comes crashing down on the govt & threatens to put sever sanctions on the military. if not, nothing will happen & this slow motion destruction and creeping talibanzation of the country will continue until one day we'll just become another Afghanistan. And, at the seep we're going it should not be too far.

I agree, this double standards of ISI and Army has given chance to people like Karzai to threaten Pakistan.
Pakistan should sideline itself fromt the Bush's personal war in Afhganistan. should seal its border for atleast 5 years and take care of the rebels in NWFP, Balochistan and in Karachi.

Shamraz you are bang on target...If American government or some people think Pakistan army is the solution to all this problem they are grossly mistaken...they are actually the main problem...
What needs to be done is that true democratic forces have to be encouraged in Pakistan and rule of law has to be established...Only writ of a true democratic, law abiding civilian government over the army can avoid this talibanization of the country....engineered democracy, unlawful judiciary, and rogue army and agencies will only enhance the existing problem...

US already tried that w.r.t. Pak nuke program, it did not work, other wise US would have done it already.

I believe any sane ISI or Army would play double game, we already have India on our eastern border and it would be quite fatal to have another Enemy (or at least not friendly) state sitting on our western border. What Pakistan Army or ISI is doing is right though not very eqasy to handle.

I disagree, trying to appease Taliban/Alqaida (in one side of the game) is actually countering the alliance of US+Afghanistan govt, that way we are converting bigger friend into an enemy(like).

That may or may not be the case, but what you & others see as a logical national security strategy is in fact detrimental to our very existence as a nation. And, remember...the Taliban & Jihadies did not fall out of the sky & landed on Pak-Afghan border, but the poor children picked from refugee camps by ISI,CIA and PA who were indoctrinated into waking human bombs that we're facing today.

You have given sixty years to the rogue agencies...and in two and half months of struggling democracy you are already declaring the experiment as failed already...who says we had real democracy for last two months....real democracy is impossible without real judiciary....I don't think going to the era of rogue agencies is the solution to our problems...a fair chance and time should be given to democracy in our country before making such sweeping conclusions...
