The truth of the matter is that it has been established that if you rely on Bukhari et el and the collected alleged sayings, you come to the conclusion with varying certainty that music is haraam...
All the while, the Quran is absolutely silent on the subject, hinting that the alleged 'sayings' forbidding music are either contradicting, or going in excess of the Quran... both scenarios are unacceptable.
If the Quran is silent about music, that is a good reason to be this way since music by itself is a tool... it can be used to provoke feelings of ANY KIND.
Quran is very direct about adultry... it tell us to stay away from it...
Quran is direct about gambling and drinking... it tells us that the bad in them outweighs the good. Notice that God does not forbid them, but gives CLEAR indication as to what He RECOMMENDS.
Quran is ABSOLUTELY SILENT about music... THIS IS A CLEAR SIGN in my opinion!
