I was reading this article, that confirms that MQM has been declared a Terrorist party in Canada at least. How come a party can be declared terrorist by one of the G8 countries, while party is member of Government of Pakistan? Hoax or truth ?

From the post, it does not appear to be the offcial standing of the Govt. Its a court decision and more of a case to case scenario.

Any which way, this should not come as a surprise. This might be the begining of end for MQM, at least in Canada

what does it mean for all the real or fake MQM workers who got assylum in Canada based on their assertions that they are MQM members and under attack from Pakistan govt ..back in the 90s.

It looks like that for the time being, some one has to file charges against an individual and court to make a decision against that person for law enforcement agencies to take action. So majority of them are safe for now but in the long run, this may not be the case.

I think that MQM should buy a private Island some where and move all their people over to that place. They can call it MQMistan:)

I was talking less about criminal charges and more about legal residence status.

well if someone moved over as an asylee, and then became a permanent resident and then a citizen then there is no tmuch that can be done unless someone can make a case that the pretense under which this was done was false.

I actually met pakistansi who came on MQM asylum to Canada who had never even stepped into province sindh let alone karachi :D

PS: it does not change my view that Pakistan needs to have more than four provinces and karachi and immediate surrounding area needs to be one seperate province.

Bahi i know many sunni muslimz who have become Shia and ahmadi for just claimin Asylum in canada !

We pakistaniz can go to any extent for achieving our dreams !

I have many ahmedi pals and I think to claim one is ahmedi is tough because you have that ahmedi registration number. and they check to make sure you are indeed ahmedi. although I am sure desis nay kaheen na kaheen 2 number kaam kiya ho ga.

yeah shias I know..i.e. naam ki shia who used that as a basis to apply for assylum

MQM is a terrorist party when it suites them (which is pretty much all the time...)...
