I don't think so. Girls just have to be educated or at least striving academically - doesn't matter if they're doctors or not. But if you're planning on marrying someone in the East, know that beauty is definitely a considerable factor. The world is full of aesthetic freaks. Get over it.

people keep getting married with their cousins...but i did notice that a few of my friends are in medical school and not to sound bad,not vey good looking..weight problems...stuff...and they are already engaged and married,whereas in the bba girls no one seems to be getting commited...one has to agree that nowadays their is a craze for families to find a doctor if their not marrying inside the familly,so they can tell their relatives that she's a doctor.

bba? what use is a bba degree, as opposed to a medical doctor degree? you have to pretty much work hard from the bottom up to be anywhere with a bba. so yes, if education and employability is important for the spouse, this is no surprise.

Where did you even get this idea? In the west there is absolutely no difference between doctor or not doctor. It's all about your success in whatever you chose to do. In the east it is all about family background and looks.

Unless you're a surgeon then you're perhaps doing people a favor, if you're just studying medicine then you're basically selling people poision and keeping the Big Pharmaceutical companies in business by keeping people sick. 2013 and we still cant figure out a cure for cancer and aids, BULL ****.

i am NOT from Pakistan but in India i haven't seen anyone who finished medicine and doing "jhaaRoo bartan" or non medical jobs. this is another story that some of them don't make as much as others but they make enough money nevertheless, more than average people.

^ Dude … I don’t know about Indians but most of the Pakistani gals don’t even complete their degrees as they get married in between or they end up doing some other degree which obviously takes less time to complete so their parents can marry them off in time….
I have not seen any family, any guy, any girl or their mothers demanding for a daactaaar bahu raani or damaad …. May be I am surrounded by educated people who are less shallow, fake, artificial & materialistic who does not give much importance to someone’s khoobsorti, bad soorti & big bank balance …..

There is an obvious demand for female docs in the marriage scene BUT along with the demand there are also some bizarre expectations. My mom was asked to look for a girl by this guy's mom.

Must be willing to live with in-laws
Must be willing to relocate to Pakistan for a minimum of two years to learn their way of life
