the lady at mac gave me C40 and when i applied it at home, my face and neck combo was a black and white one. my mom thought i had gone tanning or something, it was so obviously dark. they just cant ever give me the right shade

^I did.. and I kept telling her it looked kind of dark but she layered it with some powder and shimmer stuff which made it look okay. I didn't even bother spending some time to check it properly because it's kind of embarassing since it's this open counter right inside Macys filled with desi people and they literally stand and stare.

I am always getting stuff there so the manager knows me. She is always happy to take my unmatching foundations back. I must have returned atleast 15 of them :(

There are two in the mall where I go. I like going to this one because I have gotten to know the manager and two associates and they are such nice and helpful people (except the new ones who I do not know). It's always fun to hang around, try on and discuss makeup, and joke around with them. The guy there is always trying to do something bollywoodish on me and my friends because he's all amazed by the paki bridal makeup. I just wish they could CREATE a shade that would match my skintone.. Now the second mac is an independent store but the staff there are rude beyond you can believe. If you go there, you'll be sitting there for a good 20 mins before someone will come and acknowledge you. Then one person will be helping 3-5 people at once so they will show you one product and leave for the next 10 mins. But worst of all, they do not want to listen to what you want. They will insist on giving you products that you have absolutely no interest in. I used to go there all the time but after all these things happening constantly, I just got up and left one time because I must have waited atleast 30 mins just to buy one stupid gloss. I headed straight to the other one and the guy working at the counter was so nice and helpful.

omg I SO agree! sometimes its really hard to sit there and get foundation matched with a hoarde of people walking by and staring at you! one time this lady just stopped like 5 centimeters away from my face and stared at me while the sales assistant tried out a foundation on my face! a little space please?!!! lol my friend tries on their foundation and runs to their bathroom to check it out and then goes back and forth. but it works for her.

Sara…one large eye shadow pallet costs 11 bucks in Canada which is quite reasonable. Have you tried MAC counters in yorkdale mall or Eaten center?
When i was in Italy, exactly same pallet costs like 13 Euros…which is like 26 bucks…i thought what a rip off…

11$ for a palette? No way?
I went to the store inside Square One and one eyeshadow cost about $16.50 I think… kind of a ripoff considering theres almost no difference in currency btwn CD and USD now (or was there ever? )

This was back in June or July......
Even in US, the palettes cost like $36 and they come out only once a year!

I know he's opening more outlets in amreeka after the NY store.

How's the Napo-China Doll 'look 3' shade? I can't ever find the right one and I don't want to try it on in Sephora because I always break out.. I don't think they ever clean their brushes.

Girls in Pak prefer heavy base (foundation) these days..and that's why MAC is popular..I don't know abt allenora..mab, new look etc..but Ather Shahzad, babloo,Moon and depilex dubai uses MAC.

i use c30 marwah... have you tried that?

I've used C35 and I was so happy, I thought I found my perfect match and then when I went to get another one I noticed the new C35 is a little dark.. I guess they started making it differently or something. I compared the two colors on my hand and face and there was a pretty big difference. Then i got C30 and that was a little too light so unless I buy two I wont have the color I want.

How’s the Napo-China Doll ‘look 3’ shade? I can’t ever find the right one and I don’t want to try it on in Sephora because I always break out.. I don’t think they ever clean their brushes.

China Doll is for people who have the most flawless comlexion like spot/pore/line free.

It does exactly as it name suggests, makes one look like the asian dolls. I’d give it a miss. Unless you are very confidnet with your skin and it doesnt have bad days.

I use their Minimal Makeup, Look 3 and it works find with my complexion, I have lots of freckles so it hides them and doesnt fill up my laugh lines. I use it with their primer though.

Dont though buy their face powder, I know I rave bout Napoleon but their face powder is very heavy, I use Maybelline’s Ivory with the Look 3 and it sits well.

shay bout breaking out, If you actually visit the authentic Napoleon counter with Napoleon girls working, they will NEVER use anyone else’s sponges on you ever.

Or any other brush as far as that goes, for every customer they take out a new applicator.

they have disposable wands for mascara, they look so cute
