It’s also how you see things. My idea of a date may be different from that of a perverted guy who looks at such things and says “haraam” to even the word. I bet there is a group out there that is against calling Khajoors “Dates”, because the word “Date” is that offensive to them. ![]()
My idea of a date is - having dinner or lunch with someone or going out and enjoying an activity together for the express purpose of figuring out if you’re a good match. And nowhere in Islam does it say you cannot get to know the person you will marry. NOT getting to know them causes the problems you see in Life1.
Similarly, there are some ideas that are in vogue with the MSA hijabi-beard toting young muslims these days, like nikkahs without co-inhabiting in one apt / house, and that makes no sense to me. Talk about a legalized way of dating and having booty calls…yet, because someone threw in a religious document, it suddenly is acceptable to not live with your spouse and have no financial/emotional responsibility towards them, only to move in like 3 years later, and find that you don’t even like living with them…causing a divorce. How does that kind of thing make any sense?
For some parts of people lives, religion does not remain that important as others perceive it should.
a date so dry ??
I rather call it “chuawara”
Who is talking about jannat and dozakh??? Uff!
LOL!! Forward planning Reha!!! MAybe you should try it sometime!! That's where we're ultimately going to end up so why not mention it??!! ...and if I did, tumhara "uff" kyoun nikal raha hai???! :)
Re: Is it REALLY that hard???
people complicate Islam themselves and then claim that it cannot be implemented with the society that we move within today.
That's where people continue to adopt things they want quoting verses from the Quran in situations which benefits them and conveniently ignoring those they don't want to follow. Islam is a way of life not some CONTRACT OF CONVENIENCE
alot of problems are due to the over emphasis by the Ulema on different issues and various fatwas that complicate matters further.
For instance wouldn't a child of 7 be afraid of namaz if everybody keeps criticising him for his posture or the way he goes into Ruku or the way he folds his hands? he would think it's too difficult and he would lose interest and probably never bother saying his prayers again.
The ulema and other scholars work with negative reinforcement only. If people who are willing to be good Muslims get chided at the minutest of mistake they would make, would they want to continue? NO
that's where the line b/w the bigger evils gets marred too and people forget what Gunah is.
