I know of shops(the 'LS' karigars wali) who have ORIGINAL umar sayeed,mehdi,HSY,Karma,Sonia Azhar,etc 's pieces using as samples and they use those to make 100% accurate replicas. when asked, they told they bought them from designers since they were relatively older designs. What else than mere greed makes these designers sell their own pieces ?

exctly the shop from which i got my wedding dress made had the orignal piece of the designer and they copied it for me :)

So the question that mizm asked remains there, prototype do these designers selling off old pieces are aware they are selling them to the replica-makers. or just sell away the old stock.
Been to liberty many times but still get confused which one is dupatta gali, tell me is it in the same row as khusaa mehl or in the row of shops that are opposite the khussa mehl, the front of liberty market, cud u tell them names of neighbour shops etc and exact location. I remeber there was a shop some where in the inside of liberty specializing in selling only jamawar clothes mostly and they were beautiful though slightly costly, do u know the name dear.

Let get one thing straight. In Pakistan people getaway with murder so fashion ethics and honesty is not even a least bit of anyone’s worry..
Secondly I don’t think that Pakistani designers are protected through any kind of trademark or copyright law. They don’t have their work registered and thus can’t take legal action against anybody who copies their material. Even in US and Europe, clothing patents are very tricky. You can change a little detail in the design and designer can no longer claim that its their design. That is why we see oscar knockoffs immediately and even fashion shows tell us how to get celebrity looks for less.
Personally though, I can never justify spending my hard earned money on fashion labels and even the knockoffs are very expensive for clothes which will be only be worn couple of times at most. But I know I am in a minority among the GS ladies.

happiness, it is in the same building where khussa mahal is .. behind khussa mahal ! and yes, they know they are selling to replica designers. sub paisay ki game hai ! ethics kon dekhta hai yahan 
I have seen designer Saim in liberty sooo many times .he buys ready kaam walay galay and then makes outfits based on them !I even have seen him asking for ‘kuch bhi de do kisi kay order may se .. mera fashion show hai thoray din may’ 
and then I knew why do I have to wait for longgg for an order at times people pay to get anything ‘ready’ and we ge to hear ’ abhi nai bana..karigar kay ghar death ho gyee hai kisi rishtaydaar ki’
I get salan or coke on my dress within half n hour of the dawat so no way am I going to pay 4x the amount on a suit that I can get a replica of. We go to dawats not red carpet events where everyone you see is asking "and who are you wearing tonight?" nor is it ever my intention to pass off my dress as designer. So if you ladies can afford to spend thousands on designer, go ahead but I rathar get 3 suits for the price of 1.

I am not going to support replica making business but for the OP, refer to post of prototype, i think if its true it is enough to kill your objection, if they dont bother then....And even the runway desingers steal the designs of contemprories and u neva know the 50+k dress you are wearing from some topnotch designer was simply picked from back alley store in thailand singapore..so on

and even your fav designers have 10+ junior designers working under them in their houses, i believe, i know some of them do have. So there creations aren't just the brainwork of 1 person. And nowadays isee designs being so ugly that seems they have their creative juices so sucked out, more like "dhajjis" of clothes with lil bit work here n there n lo the design of the season is here.

^Pakistani designers are the worst copycats...if they copy Western designers, I don't see why other people shouldn't get their dresses copied. When the designers themselves don't showcase moral and principles......!
