DL as i understand things, your family will have to approach her family and then there will be a number of interviews/visits. Purpose being to see whether both sides think that it will be a good match, yeah? So there has to be at least a little understanding prior to any wedding even if you never actually get to speak with her! I mean I'm sure you like to think of her as the perfect flower but you never know - like i said, her views, her expectations of life and marriage may be diametrically opposed to yours. Only way to find out is to get together with her family and ask about her.
Marriages fail or succeed based mostly on how well or how poorly the two communicate and cooperate - this goes for whether its arranged or love match.

its exactly the scenario in pakistan...only family communicate...if they give green signal...everything OK.....
sometimes..the choice of boy and girl with each other also has given prefences..if the signal is partial green ...or even red...you understand ..what i am trying to say...:)
