is it important??

Re: is it important??

i'm sorry but that poverty gives no one the right to refuse education to women,
once the WHOLE nation is educated to a certain degree then the WHOLE nation will benfit
not just a few

Re: is it important??

can u all tell me 1 thing
why do they need it????

Re: is it important??

^ If you don't knwo the answer to that, if you even need to ask such a question, there's no hope for you.

Re: is it important??

well they are not going to use it?

Re: is it important??

so why waste time and money

Re: is it important??

Think about it in practical terms. Education is not free like it is here in North America. Most families in Pakistan can't afford to educate all their children. So in the interest of the family they choose to educate the boy because he'll be the earner for the family.

Re: is it important??

yes ur right, so why should they waste moeny on girls when the will be no use??

Re: is it important??

Whatever happened to education to broaden your mind, increase your knowledge etc? Why is education ONLY important if you can earn money from it? Is that all education is for, to earn a dollar?

Re: is it important??

when resources are limited then you have to think in practical terms.

Re: is it important??

How does that relate to the original question by the topic starter? He wasn't debating whether women in rural areas of Pakistan need education. His question was do women need education, which is flat our ridiculous.

Re: is it important??

I was defending the accusation against Pakistan.

I truly believe that women should be educated.

Re: is it important??

In that regard, I'm inclined to agree with you. Although I have to say that even under ideal financial circumstances, most parents in rural Pakistan would rather their daughters stay at home uneducated than go to school and make something of her life. Thats just how the mind-set is.

Re: is it important??

so one day when you die speed racing through the streets, you wife can get a well paid job on the basis of her education and teach your kids. and if some backward arse person like you stops her from getting a job, she can still teach her kids at home because she is literate.

Re: is it important??

lol i have yet to see educated muslimahs who also take islamic values into considirations when acting in public domain..the impression i have from educated woman is they r shameless, valuesless, cultureless lot...esp seeing how most paki girls in west behave i do rather have girls to be illetrate then to be educated :o ..lol ..

Re: is it important??

Well, that can be said about rural societies (although perhaps not to the same extent) in other countries as well.
How many female doctors, engineers, astronauts come out from rural Mississipi? Alabama? Arkansas?

Re: is it important??

good for you. i will be sure to find a gawar larki from the pind for you, who does not know how to read the quran because no one taught her. at the same time, i will make sure that she doesn't know the difference between what is islam and what is culture. i will also make sure that when some says read the kul...she will go "kul, kul, kul"

Re: is it important??

We're not talking abt limited resources or rural areas. Original poster asked wehther women shud be educated that's it.

Re: is it important??

ok so if the resources are limited…why limit the education of women? would it not make more sense to send the men out in the woods to gather the food, and farm and work in the factories, and send the girls to schools so they can learn something. i mean, they are meant to be all dainty and weak right? so let them do something weak like getting an education. then, when the men come home, women are in the house, making rotis and salan, and can tell their men this is how you should be growing your grains.

Re: is it important??

lol issi liye to kisi pind wali sai shaadi karoon ga ..atleast she will knows the difference between good and “not that good” behaviour lol..

Re: is it important??

I’m talking about current day Pakistan. The whole world knows how important education is; but in Pakistan its NOT FREE. Families have limited income; they know the girl will be married off and she will not support the family; the boy will stick around and if they educate him he can become a professional and provide for the family. Thats the thinking over there.
