Re: Is it even possible?
Aww!
So sweet of you. ![]()
I never even claimed that though. ![]()
By definioon she is overweight not even in obese range.
She is only 2.5 lbs more than upper normal limit of 24.9 lbs.
So what is the big deal here my respected nutritionist to even bring that question?

Awww Diwana why don't you want to answer RV's question?
Yes by definition she is overwt and not obese. This is precisely the reason why I gave this case because you were talking about normal/avg people (I'm not quoting you on the exact word since I don't remember which you used). Secondly she needs to lose 16 lbs for her BMI to be 24.9 (the units for BMI are kg/m^2 not lbs).
The reason I brought this question forward is because I want to understand what you think she needs to do to lose excess wt within 3 weeks.
Re: Is it even possible?
Yeah, Diwana :(........You'll even burn a few calories while you're typing away the answer to my question regarding your profession. Now, I've already ruled out the possibility of comedian, therapist (yikes!), and adept interpreter of sarcasm.
Re: Is it even possible?
You do realize I have very little reserve and must drink a full can of sweet drink to barely type a line.
Slumped over…
brb.
By normal I meant those who have no medical condition to blame for their so called metabolic problem. ![]()
And thanks for converting it to Matric system.
Still she has no big hurdle to overcome (2.5 lbs). If she thinks she does, she is as dumb as a door knob. ![]()
Re: Is it even possible?
since you like this emoticon
No one once mentioned anything about a person with medical condition or metabolic problems. We said metabolism plays a role in wt loss.
I did not convert it to matric system. You said 24.9 lbs and 2.5 lbs but BMI units are not in lbs (no such thing as 24.9 lbs BMI)
I never said there is a hurdle, but since you say that it is safe and there is no problem if a person loses wt in a short period of time why don’t you tell me how many cal should this person eat and how many should they burn.
I don’t know what is hard about this question. According to your understanding give me number please.
Re: Is it even possible?
Diwana …my fraan,
It’s metric…not “matric.”
It’s method…not…“mathod.”
Also, are you sure that sweet drink is not some sort of intoxicant? How can anyone listen to you if you’re gonna talk like that. ![]()
Re: Is it even possible?
Where did I say BMI has unit of lbs? I said weight of upper normal limit of 24.9 lbs.
2.5 pounds means 3500 X 2.5 =8750 calories.
That means if she goes slow track like 500 calories per day loss, she can achieve result at least in 10 days max.
For her, she is not even obese or cosmetically bad looking.
She is just chubby/curvy girl with a little more to love. ![]()
She does not have to go on fast track of losing weight to even have an issue.
Re: Is it even possible?
Ok what do you mean wt of upper normal limit of 24.9?
and here I thought Diwana thinks its perfectly okay to lose drastic amount of wt in a week. Okay fine stick to 2.5 lbs a week so she needs to reduce her cal intake by 875 cals to lose 2.5lbs in 10 days…not 500. What exactly do you mean by slow track her calories? So is there any exercise included. How many calories should she be consuming?
There is a reason why healthy BMI ranges were created. There isn’t a little more to love, it increases her chances of developing medical conditions.
Re: Is it even possible?
So you are going to accuse me of intoxicants and haram things now for spelling mistake? I do that for a reason when people are not clear in their thoughts! ![]()
Re: Is it even possible?
If you solve this question using your drastic wt loss method we will move onto an obese case :)

Ah, finally talking to two girls at the same time got me in trouble and distracted. Astaghfirullah!.
Did not check after hitting submit, 500 cal per day would mean at least 17 days. (17.5 days)
Still she does not have to rush.
500 cal per day loss is a slow track. Anything more perhaps can be considered fast.
One pound per week loss means 3500 cal per week. (500 x 7 = 3500)

aww did Diwana finally make a mistake? :(
but she wants to rush and you said its safe to do so...phir why aren't you helping the poor soul? Bechari will give up if it takes 17 plus days to lose just 2.5 pounds and she has to lose 16!
Oh i know very well that loss of 3500 cal will lead to 1 pound of fat loss.
You still didn't answer what you mean by upper limit wt 24.9?
You didn't answer how many calories should she eat in total, how many should she burn and how?
Diwana, I am sorry to say but you have failed this question.
Re: Is it even possible?
^Easy now Canadiandesigirl........impressing him might have dire consequences. He may become your diwana.

Not so fast!
So what if I did not check the stupid days to calculate. Still not arguing on that one and acknowledge the mistake. So why rubbing it? :(
OK.
Whatever she does she has to lose weight in terms of calories intake and loss.
There are calculations available for dietary contents and calories and calculations for walking/jogging/running activities and loss of calories per 30 min or so.
All she has to do is eliminate simple sugar contents from diet first and weigh her every day.
Decrease her calorie intake as her weight is shown on scale and incerease her activity as she can tolerate.
For her to lose this much really is no big deal. :)
Re: Is it even possible?
Diwana unfortunately you did not impress me with you intelligence and wit. I apologize did not mean to rub it in, but i thought i try your medicine on you.
Re: Is it even possible?
Diwanay, I wonder if you’re a personal trainer by profession. ![]()
I picture you cracking your whip at obese people on the treadmill…threatening them to run faster. And for women who have just delivered babies…you must use electric shock to get them to become slim and trim.
Re: Is it even possible?
Exercise is 20% remember?
Its the doodh dahi makhan, ice cream etc and whatever that needs to be tackled.
If that makes you feel better and sleep with sweet dreams. Then one more good accomplished in this world. ![]()
Re: Is it even possible?
I hear all the time girls saying how they lost 6-10kgs in a month but i don't believe that's possible really unless you are a celebrity surrounded by all kinds of natural/unnatural help.
Ofcourse it can't be healthy either but how do people manage it? I remember i heard Ash lost like 10kgs in weeks for Dhoom, now i can believe that because they go to any means to get weight/shape they want but i find it hard to believe that the same can be done only with diet and excercise and not using any other means.
yes it is possible
Re: Is it even possible?
^Yes. A quick weight loss for short term really does not cause big problem in otherwise normal and healthy people. Some weight is gained but with continued reminder one can maintain weight within 5-10 pounds. Still better than what they began with. :)
