Is it even possible?

I hear all the time girls saying how they lost 6-10kgs in a month but i don’t believe that’s possible really unless you are a celebrity surrounded by all kinds of natural/unnatural help.

Ofcourse it can’t be healthy either but how do people manage it? I remember i heard Ash lost like 10kgs in weeks for Dhoom, now i can believe that because they go to any means to get weight/shape they want but i find it hard to believe that the same can be done only with diet and excercise and not using any other means.

Re: Is it even possible?

10 Kg is about 22-23 lbs? Losing 22 lbs in one month sounds a little disturbing. The recommended weight reduction is 1lb / week.

Re: Is it even possible?

zero carb and high intensity workouts 7 times a week including 4 times a week cardio

you can lose up to 14lb

Re: Is it even possible?

Well now 1lb/week also doesnt make sense. Anyone who has to loose more than 10kgs wl be booked for a year and nobody wants that :D

How can you do high intensity workouts when you have no intake of carbs?!

Re: Is it even possible?

Zreen, it might be an year but that makes it a permanent one, based on a healthy pattern... what puchi is recommending, zero carb and overworking yourself is just temporary. The moment the carbs come back into the diet, your body stores more to take care of the carb starvation.

Re: Is it even possible?

True. Plus i don't think it can be healthy even otherwise, it wud take a toll on your skin/hair too.

Re: Is it even possible?

Please dont use movie stars as your guides.

If Ash doesnt lose weight, she doesnt get paid. You have the luxury of doing things the healthy way.

Re: Is it even possible?

I know rite but it does make you think :D nobody wants to take so long to see the results, i know its worth it at the end of the day as i have done it myself but still....!!!

Re: Is it even possible?

Yea of course it's possible! Popeye is real too.

Re: Is it even possible?

I am gonna experiment on myself. I am going to take it bit easy on the excercise but try keep focused on a good, balanced diet and we wl see how it goes :)

Wish me luck :D I'll try to keep you guys updated.

Re: Is it even possible?

Healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week...and you should not expect a 2 lb loss every week. As Spock mentioned a diet where you lose a lot of wt suddenly causes a decrease in your metabolism hence when you start to eat normally even if its healthy you will gain more wt then what you lost. So be careful with how you lose wt.

Re: Is it even possible?

OK.

Lots of suggestions and speculations so far.

Any scientific proof of what is so far said?

This metabolism thingy is very much used in conversation. And people use this in books as well as in conversation and put their ideas in such a way to connect it to this METABOLISM is very amusing.

What can be proven by an individual by measurement is correct. All other statements are just rheatorics and generalizations.

One can lose weight very fast and can maintain it by keeping the balance of diet and exercise.

It all depends on an individual not just on so called metabolism but more importantly on willingness to stick with a rule.

What is that rule based on simple mathematics?

What you put in should be equal to what you lose, to maintain weight.

If you do not follow this rule, then do not be surprised when you gain or lose weight.

P.S. I think I have said this before. Weight is based on what you put n and what you manage to get out. Normal individuals should forget about silly metabolism issue.

Metabolism issue was made important by people who ate like horse and blamed on metabolism not to be able to lose weight.

Re: Is it even possible?

Diwana, I don't wish to get into a discussion with you but all I will say is I specialized in Foods and Nutrition Science so I do know a thing or two about it :)

It absolutely depends on in and out but those that lose drastic amount of wt can not keep that lifestyle up. Unless you think people can live on a carb free and low cal diet all their lives? I honestly am not going to dig up scientific journal articles which show the increased wt gain after stopping such drastic diets.

Re: Is it even possible?

But canadian. your degree means nothing in diwana-world where only diwana is the expert biologist nutritionist lawyer and gynoecologist. :(

Omg I love Popeye's Chicken!

Re: Is it even possible?

Jaadoo ki goliyaan

Re: Is it even possible?

That might be it eh!

Re: Is it even possible?

Sounds like a very unhealthy way of losing weight.

Re: Is it even possible?

First, that’s insane. Like people have said, 1-2 lbs per week MAX.

Second, Diwana, just :bizz:

There IS such a thing as metabolism. And there have been studies that prove it. Ever hear of bodybuilding? They manipulate their bodies to extreme conditions. And before you bring up steroids, there are clean contests. Or what about people who have similar diets and yet one of them is skinny while the other is chubby? That’s metabolism and body types buddy.

Dude you are just a champ. I applaud you for rivaling Tea Partiers in having a totally uncalled for sense of self assuredness.
