Is it a guy thing?

To be hanging out with a girl and to be checking out others?

It’s not a date, its just hanging out, strictly platonic. However, I find it disrespectful and rude to be staring at other girls and saying “wow that girls’ hot, Yoh imma holla at that shorty!” or “I’d hit that!” or other BS like that. I am/was friends with one person who never did that, so now I think I’ve been spoiled thinking there are still some shareef guys left :stuck_out_tongue: But in all seriousness, I find it really rude, not because I want them to be interested in me, but that if you’re with another girl, any girl, you have the courtesy to keep your eyes and attention in check for more than a minute.

Or am i asking for too much? :expressionless:

Re: Is it a guy thing?

Why do you hang out with losers? Or may be it is normal for guys thesedays to think out loud when in the company of ladies.

Re: Is it a guy thing?

I don’t normally hang out with guys like that but I used to adn still come across those types and that’s what I’m thinking, that maybe I’m expecting too much of guys and that one guy was a very rare exception. But if I do, then i get accused of thinking that they’re all pigs

Re: Is it a guy thing?

LOL! When i’m in that situation, sorry but i never get offended…i mean if we are all friends then who cares…i don’t think it’s rude at all…cos if i’m with one of my girl friends and she sees a guy she likes and makes a comment like, “oh he’s cute!” then i wudn’t mind…so if i’m with one of my guy friends and he sees a girl he likes and makes a comment like, “oh she hot!” then i wudn’t mind either, cos we’re just friends rite…y wud it be different if it is one of ur guy or girl friends? And in fact, if u show that u r offended, he may even get the wrong idea and think ur jealous and that u fancy him! When i’m with my fiance and his friends or any of my guy friends, they (the single ones) are always checking out other girls, haha! sometimes they even ask me wot i think of her and if i wud go try to put in a good word for them…it’s all in good fun, and i think that’s y i get along better with guys (as well as girls though) cos they don’t have to worry about if they’re offending me as a girl all the time…and my fiance tells me his friends enjoy being around me cos i’m not uptight like most asian girls…sorry if this offends u, but that’s just me… i’m not trying to imply anything…just sharing my view…

P.S: and no i don’t think it’s just a guy thing…when a bunch of my girlfriends are sitting around and say one of our guy friends is there…we still point out if we think guys are hot too!

Re: Is it a guy thing?

Both guys and girls do it and its just for a laugh, no wrong intention. When I'm with female friends, they'll say similar stuff about guys and I'll say the same about girls. We don't sink as low as 'I'd do her/hit it' or somewhat similar but 'damn she was hot/fine stuff' is common. Its harmless fun, nothing more.

Re: Is it a guy thing?

ugh sara i think i know who u r talking about.....

forget that......I've seen guys in relationships checking out girls in front of their gf's and telling them "wow that girlz hot!" and then going "Wha?" when their gf's walk out on them.

Re: Is it a guy thing?

I have seen married men doing the same stuff. There are a few on GS too. Now, that is irritating!

Re: Is it a guy thing?

I have had friends who have done that and honestly it doesnt bother me, if its done quietly and there is no yelling out or disrespectfulness involved.

Re: Is it a guy thing?

Hehehhehehee no its not who u think! Though yeah he is deff like that, i was talkin bout someone else … who acutally is friends wiht that person… damn its a small world :disgust:
