Yesterday on the bus to college I saw a young couple (15-16) kissing and then the girls’ friend say something which made my blood boil “ewww you’re not going out with that Paki are you?”, her friend retorted “he’s not Paki, honest, he’s British born and considers himself English” to which the first girl said “but he’s still a Paki and burst into hysterical laughter”, all through this the kid looked uncomfortable and ashamed but was too under his gf’s thumb to say anything… Had she not been a girl I’d have given her a piece of my mind.
you know what, i did not have that problem in london, not my last trip not my previous trip. last time i heard a taunt was ages ago, and I told the guy off royally.
I actually had fun taunting american tourists in London :D
hey all u brits... wots the background of this term paki?
somone once told me that this term is used for all people of the subcontinent... is this true?
Thats exactly happened to me once when we were returning back from a cricket match, when couple of gypsies told my English mates, u are not having this paki as ur friend. Result, my English friend banged that racist's head with cricket bat.
At the end of the day I dont give a damn, I dont tell anyone I am British etc ... if someone asks me - I always say "I am from Pakistan" for me it doesn't matter what passport I hold, the thing that matters is that who I am.
