well, u can carry on assessing the conflicts just thru the numbers…Saddam’s given reason for invading Iran was to capture the oil laden areas West of Iran on the borders of Iraq…Saddam’s allies, i.e. the Western countries, Israel, and Arabs wanted the fall of revolutionary government in Iran…guess what?..after the 8 years of war Saddam failed to get even an inch of Iranian territory…and this was despite unprecedented and unconditional support of USA, Israel, most of the Arabs and the other Western nations put together including access of Chemical and Biological weapons…
The revolutionary regime also survived and despite terrorist bomb attacks against Iran such as the one in 1981 that killed more than 70 top level government personnel of Iran including then chief justice, cabinet ministers, and parliamentarians yet the regime not only survived the terror tactics but came out it all much stronger and surprised everybody by its resistance…
To me if Bangladesh plays a whole 5 day test against the Aussies at WACA and manages to draw the test then it is akin to their victory and the defeat of the Australians in the hindsight regardless of how many runs were scored…oh well, we have different way of measuring success…
