Yes it is in the bible which is also regarded as a holy book by the muslims
When was this implemented??? did any of the so called christian kings followed these guidelines?
No they burnt and abolished the very people who did(Knights Templers).
No doubt the early churches did all they could for the poor and it is through their missionaryzeal that christianity spread thruout the world. There are good and bad people in all faiths
that is why it says in the quran(Al-Imran verse 75)
"Among the people of the book are those if you trust them with a hoard of gold they will pay you back and also those if entrusted with a single silver coinwill not repay it".
European system as we know today is just as christian as the turkish govt is islamic
if you dont want muslims fine your decision but please face the facts
…when these same people were hunting down Muslims like animals…you damn right. It shouldl be noted that there were Christian tribes that opted to serve along side Muslims military, and they were left alone and forgiven the Jizya.
The act of humiliating those who pay the Jizya was suggested by the now defunct Mutazlite school of thought. On the contrary, the Caliph Omar was advised to not abuse those who pay, and not to humiliate them.
During Imperial Islam this system was simply that of tribute, as practiced by all other empires and done more for the sake of king rather than religion.
When the Arabs invaded India, and a sulanate established in Dehli, it was determined by the theologins that Hindus should be given “people of the book” status.
On some maters, and on matters it is her testimony that matters more.
A bit of a red herring. Tripple ‘talaq’ as it is known is an abomination, the intent is that such a thing not be done in one sitting. Needless to say, a divorce is never finalized until a court says so…more so now days than ever.
austin,
you are right I am a pakistani
Prophet(PBUH) said in this last sermon
an arab has no superority over an a nonarab and neither does nonarab over arab
similarly black has no superority over white and neither does white over black
too bad most Arabs never followed his words
Muslims are in no position to demand. Muslims simply practice what they are TOLD is their right…and as in France and Germany we see fear mongers such as yourself turning the tide and slipping back what was once allowed…not because of any real threat, but because you are afraid and paranoid.
What manner of savage attacks other people in their land, or supports others who ursurp lands…and then demand that we sidee with their attack?

This clearly shows that once muslims are in a position to demand that they would not tolerate what is being told to them. Being paranoid is not the term that you use when your brethern across the globe go around bombing people.
You will have to understand the rationale behind the move by the western governments. Because of the segregation, the muslims are feeling more left out and that is feeding the terrorist in them. If they assimilate better into the society, they would become better people and not try to bomb their neighbours. All things said and done, there is a distrust for muslims after 911. If the muslims still flaunt their religion it would be difficult for them to assimilate into the society.
Being paranoid IS calling these people by “bretheren” when I said nothing to supporr them. That I don’t support the invasion of Iraq is another issue…at least it should be. But the paranoid won’t let it be.
THe assumption being here that all Muslims are potential bombers? Racist…
Who the hell is fluanting anything? It’s not our man in the white house “talking” to God…
I agree Islamism is a bankrupt ideology. Through out the world, where ever there is Islam that country is under developed or poor. We should probably re-think about Islamism, may be it has lost its sense.
