True face of India…
Re: Is India turning fascist under Modi?
Their PM is a bigoted murderer responsible for the death of thousands.
Such cases aren't surprising.
Of course I doubt it's going to be plastered all over the papers, discussed on the radios and tv channels because it's everyone's darling India and it's not showing Muslims/Pakistan in a bad light.
Re: Is India turning fascist under Modi?
No India was facist all along, they have this policy if you are not with us then you are against us! remember that is what got Gandhi Killed ! right after he announced he was moving to Pakistan!
Re: Is India turning fascist under Modi?
*Secular *India at its best.
Re: Is India turning fascist under Modi?
I don't know that if we name a forum 'General', it will cater all threads based on 'Generalisation'. First, Mumbai hotels incident lead to 'Height of hatred by Indian' and now a random video turning a whole country fascist.
Having said (and I'm ready to be called Indian sympathizer / worshiper or whatever may come), if they selected Modi, we also gave votes to Jamat e Islami. Do I need to mention what this Jamat had been upto?
We have seen more fascist behavior in the name of ethnicity / sectarian differences in Pakistan, but still we don't accept ourselves (Pakistani nation as a whole) as fascist. Why? because we know there are some good people who don't believe in any discrimination. Trust me, you will find many Indian disagreeing to what is being shown in the video or what is being implemented by Modi Government. Even bollywood (which is thrown in the face of people who try to hilight some good about India) is talking against the sacredness of cow.
Re: Is India turning fascist under Modi?
Oh wow. Generalisation against own army is acceptable, but generalisation against India is not!
Jamat e Islami vs Modi. Ridiculous and ignorant comparison. Religious parties have never been voted in power in Pakistan. But India have always had always problem keeping away from fascists Hindu organisations like Shiv Sena, and RSS.

Of course there is good and bad in every group of people.
You can't tar everyone with the same brush, that would be highly hypocritical considering this is exactly what we have to suffer as Muslims.
The main gripe is that India gets branded as a secular tolerant country, on par with the west. The issues Pakistan gets vilified for exist in India too, on a much larger scale yet we'll get lambasted for it. You follow most International news outlets and they're firmly lodged up India's backside whilst the way we get treated and seen by the global press is the complete opposite despite the fact India isn't any better than us. There are a variety of reasons for this and a lot of it is down to our own incompetence (thanks to our politicians) but I'm still sick and tired of it.
What's even more annoying is that a lot of fellow Pakistanis believe the nonsense spouted against Pakistan in the international media.
On a different note, the user who created the "Height of hatreds by Indians" thread is an avid follower of Pakistani politics. I don't know the fellow off this website but we've had discussions in the politics forum. I don't know if you follow Pakistani politics or how much you know but a lot of attacks you see in Pakistan are funded by India. If you follow the politics, you'll know about their media - tv channels, newspapers - and how much nonsense and lies they spread about Pakistan, how much fear and war mongering they try and instill into the general public. And of course this sort of nonsense carries over to the population, not to everyone of course but to most people, as is the case all over the world.
In contrast, our media, our tv channels, our papers - they are all very mild when it comes to India. Lots of them are blatantly anti-Pakistan. The content of our tv channels, the Indian songs, the bollywood news updates - all pathetic. You'd never see Indian media promoting Pakistani content in such fashion. They banned a Pakistani film a few months ago, good on them. They're showing some spine.
Like I said, I'm not sure how much you're aware of Pakistan's political situation but currently things are very heated with India. Constant tension on the borders, threats from their government officials, from their news channels. Makes for some great comedy truth be told but it's there. I know you didn't really speak about any of this in the post I've quoted but I believe you're alluring to it because of what was said in the other thread about Bollywood (by me anyway, not sure if anyone else mentioned it).
I'd love it if there was peace with India. I genuinely wish there was.
But there isn't. And it's about time Pakistani's grew a spine and exposed all the lies and problems India spreads in and about Pakistan.
Re: Is India turning fascist under Modi?
Today, another Muslim man had been killed for alleged cow smuggling for slaughter, but let's all focus on what scumbags Pakistanis can be because any wholly criticism on India is too much for some Pakistanis.

Hope you're not suggesting fascism is on the rise in India! How dare you generalise.

Tauba. How can I say a word against India? It must be the doing of ISI and Pakistan Army!

First of all this is not political discussion forum and neither I want that we use same tone here. My comment regarding bollywood was general and it is common trend nowadays that anyone saying something good about India is tagged as bollywood mesmerized.
I know there are issues between both the countries and allegations from both sides to fund terrorism in each other's countries. My point was avoiding generalisation. I can bring more incidents from Pakistan that include violent deaths on sectarian basis and how we treated our minorities under every regime (Each and every regime, not only under scapegoat Zia), but still we defend Pakistanis against terming as fascist nation.
What is being happened India under Modi government is definitely condemnable and there exist voices against such actions in India itself. Till such voices exist in any society, I don't find any justification to term whole society / country as fascist.

Very well said. Ofcourse not all Indians are the same, have made some great Indian friends. IRL and GS, but if we had a mass murderer as PM there'd be outrage worldwide. Yet India gets away with it.

Lady.. Who is the partner in KPK government with PTI even after their obnoxious remarks against soldiers?
Correct your facts that religious parties has never been voted in Pakistan. Molana Diesel has been blackmailing different Governments. Who gave him votes to get seats in Parliament?
Were not these religious parties powerful enough to get a bill passed against Qadyanis in Bhutto Government?

That's one point some people struggle to understand.
Pakistan doesn't even claim to be a secular country, yet somehow Indian 'secularism' is always compared to Pakistani 'standards'. Clearly that tell you something.
Truth of the matter is, India despite marketing itself as a 'secular' still practices all the discriminatory religious edicts and attitude whereas Pakistan as a state refrains from practising harsher laws on religious basis.
Pakistan is more notorious than actually bad!

Look at BBC, India despite its rapes, lynchings, murders and ofcourse having a killer as PM barely gets negative news. While China who has no ongoing 'conflicts' with any nations, is an almost superpower, gets snide propaganda regularly. IPL, tamasha was fixed as expected yet NOTHING on BBC other than minor paragpahs. but Umar Akmal I remember got a ticket for speeding, it was plastered as headline news.
Demonising Pakistanis is seen as fair game, anyone seen the tripe TV show Homeland? I stopped watching when their ridiculous season on Pakistan started. Imagine if Pakistan had killed three minorities in their thousands in three decades, we'd be under sanctions.
Peace with India should be paramount but peace is not one sided. You cannot have peace when one side is on a constant maligning campaign to damage your reputation at home and abroad and is openly threatening war, when all their media is focused on surgical strikes nonsense. The policy, not only towards India, but the world should be we want peace but any threats to our existence and you will see the response.

I agree with this bit too, and have noticed a lot of Indians standing up to this. A lot of them also stood up for Kasuri which is heartening, but still doesn't change the fact that a fascist leader was voted in power after sweeping polls. India on this path will undo all their progress.

You are just clutching on straws here. We are not just talking about 'votes' here, we are talking about popular votes to gain power at the highest level. Religious parties had never been voted in power by people of Pakistan, but Modi just did! Before that Shiv Sena and RSS had always existed in Indian political system, so quit making religious parties an exclusively Pakistan issue.
Bhutto is more responsible for cosying up to religious parties for support and alliances purposes than them being too powerful, similar to Modi's collaboration with Hindutva parties.
But yes, my most fundamental respect for Pakistan Army (not Punjabi Army!) as an institution surpass my political affiliation after a certain point. PTI may not even be there in 10 years time, but Pak Fauj shall be there as long as there is Pakistan.
But truth remains, some people love, enjoy and participate in smear campaign against their own Army based on crass generalisations, but will not shy away from speaking up for India's honour against same nature of generalisations.

When did jamaat get enough votes to form a govt. Forget forming a govt in the center, they have never won enough seats to fill a row of seats in the national assembly.
Pakistan doesnt claim to be secular, India does. You yourself are against secular and liberals like Nadeem Paracha.
Re: Is India turning fascist under Modi?
One more thing, when things like these happen in India we are told all the time it is isolated incident, when it happens in Pakistan it is because we are jahil, terrorist uncouth etc etc etc.
Re: Is India turning fascist under Modi?

The video is about treatment of minorities in India and that definitely got some connection with the policies of Modi's government at center. So definitely, Indian masses have a contribution towards such incidents against minorities like Paksitani masses have by selecting likes of Sharifs and Zardaris, who just give lip service of condemnation when incidents like Godhra and Badami Bagh happens in Pakistan.
So we got two options:
(i) Call both the countries and their masses as fascist, as both sides got contribution to what is being faced by minorities on both sides of border; or
(ii) Avoid generlisation based on certain incidents to term whole societies and countries fascist.
I mean equal treatment for ourselves and others. Not that 'tera kutta kutta and my doggy is tommy' by defending our side with lame excuses.
