I am asking the question in the context of what Bella and Psyah had recemt exchange in posting and I was surprised to read Psyah seemed to agree with contraception measures being wrongful act. If I misuderstood Psyah then I have no problem apologizing him.
But I wanted to know how other guppies feel about it.
Example:
For it: If the pregnancy will be exceptionally hard on the mother, especially if it's repeat pregnancy. Medical reason(s) which necessitate such measures.
Against it: Fearing poverty, and for that reason alone avoiding having kids. Because of the ayah in Quran (Surah Hud Ayah number 6): that says
And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision, and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage. All is in a clear register.
Faith will become a major determining factor here.

Allah knows best.
Yes.
As much as I understand, Islam is not against contraception measures as long as the intention is right. There is a very balanced and logical view in Islam about it.

I talked to a pretty chill maulvi with a doctoral degree in Islamic theology about contraception, and he said that contraception was not only allowed but also encouraged in Islam; he cited some hadith saying that there should be a 3 year gap between the birth of children, so contraception is permissible.
The withdrawal method was practised by the sahabas so doing 'it' for pleasure + not just to procreate was absolutely ok..
Whilst some forms of contraception are more controversial and/or forbidden temporary methods and those which don't cause any harm to the body are generally allowed...
It’s a method of birth control that was practised in the time of the Prophet (PBUH).. Just thought it was worth mentioning as some people think Muslims shouldn’t do ‘it’ just for pleasure..
Question is very clear. But I will repeat with some qualifiers.
The question is not asked in religious context only but answer can be given on any other reason(s).
Is contraception or any measure to avoid/prevent pregnancy wrong,... when couples male and female, engage in sexual activity (as husband and wife)?
Peace diwana,
No matter either pregnancy avoided/prevented, for every soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born. Its all depend on intention.

Peace LKK:
Hence, contraception in Islam is not altogether prohibited.
