No, contraception is not wrong. But only in the case of if you fear you can't afford to have children, because in the Quran it states "slay not your children for fear of poverty" - so if you're financially doing okay (i.e. you could afford it if you were blessed with children) then contraception does not go against Islam. If you are using it because you are worried you wouldn't be able to afford the financial burden of a child, well, you should stop doing that and trust in Allah.

no wonder people living in slums have lot more kids in comparison to those who are financially strong. and you are encouraging them to have as many kids as possible. Don't you think there is some flaw in the reasoning?
Re: Is contraception, family planning etc. wrong?
When you already have kids then killing them since you are unable to support them is sheer meanness. You should try your best in this regard and expect help from Allah. but it doesn't mean that you go and raise an army of kids thinking that Allah will provide for their food. Allah has provided for the necessities of all living beings. but unlike animals, insects etc., man has to explore ways and means to acquire it. Food will not come to his door steps. Moreover, food is not the only necessity. A human kid needs to be educated and groomed and it takes a long while before he is able to do something positive for himself and the society.

Peace kchughtai,
It is not in one hands to have army of kids or just one or two or little more, but what Almighty Allah decide.
