Back on topic, what people are calling chivalry, holding doors open etc, I call manners. That’s still alive.
Chivalry, to me, is being expected to give up your seat for a woman (provided she’s not pregnant or anything), paying for dinner, stuff like that. I actually prefer to do that kind of stuff but SOME women are so self entitled that it makes me want to go out of my way to not show them any extra respect.
My grandma, who is progressive even by today’s standards, actually told me she thinks girls today are really self entitled. And this is Pakistani girls. I know there are many jahil type of families out there, but mine isn’t like that, so when I see these man hating types go around yelling at guys etc, it just makes me think guys who insist on treating them like “queens” are just door mats and I’ve seen way too many guys get screwed around by being nice guys.
