Just wondering, because I was reading that we shouldn’t make unlawful something that Allah HImself has declared lawful.
So, if you’re not ill, and you are only skipping meat because you are a vegetarian, is that bad? What do you think?
I don't know about the exact religious verdict on it but I'm assuming it would be disliked because like you mentioned it's like making unlawful what Allah has made lawful for his slaves. We shouldn't deny ourselves any of Allah's blessings.
Meat is an essential part of our diets we need it for protein. It’s almost impossible to get all your protein out of vegetarian foods. Lentils and beans contain some amino acids but certainly not all of them. Without the correct proteins your body can’t make new cells/tissues or repair old ones.
I’d hate to be a vegetarian, it would be so boring and I wouldn’t have my rock hard mascals.
Why do you want to be a vegetarian anyway? Meat is good for you. Just eat it in moderation.
I already asked this question before and was told it was alright for muslims to be vegatarian. I know one muslim who is a sportsperson, and yes he has very nice muscles, and has been totally veg for about 5 yrs.
Personally i think that it is wrong to think that slaughtering animals is crurelty because ALLAH himself allowed us to slaughter animals for surviving.. I think its fine to be a vegetarian if u dont like meat itself because u may not liek the wat it tastes but to actually think an stop urslef from eating meat for the ssake of cruelty is wrong vcuz liek u said
Allah has declared slaughtering lawful
^^ what if it was proved to you that animals feel pain and terror, would you still feel it's ok to kill animals? no one is saying dont eat meat, but would you consider for a minute that maybe it's bad to cause distress to animals when they too are god's creatures.

yes they r Gods creature ut thy have been created for US.. for us to eat them.. do animals not prey on each other???
iF IT WASNT ALLOWED, (sorry caps) we wouldnt have religous holidays that would require Muslims to sacrifice goats nd cows ...
an if we r talkin about pain, arent plants living creatures, do they not grow an die, an if they r livin creatures then arent the fruits an the vegetale they bear not a living thing???
does that mean we stop eating fruits an veges???
True, we wouldn't have to slaughter after the Hadj either then.
And yes, I didn'tthink about that one, fruits and vegetables are living too and we eat them too. It has been said that if you cut a tree or pick a flower, they do feel pain. I don't know.
IMHO being vegetarian or non-vegetarian is a metter of personal choice. I see nothing wrong with either.
I have a theory about why meat-eating is allowed in the Abrahamic religions (Islam, Judaism, and Christanity). All these religions started in West Asia, which as far as I know, is not suitable for agriculture (because of the lower-than-average water availability). Therefore, it was simply not possible for people to be vegetarians. I feel this was the reasons none of the prophets (peace be upon them) asked their people to refrain from eating meat.
As in the words of Jesus (phuh): “The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath”, meaning that “customs are made for people, and not people for the customs.”
for country like india wit 1 billion people vegetrian is more affordable.
grain based food can feed more people . compare the cost of 1 kg of meat to grains.

Well, it has been proved that even plants feel pain (Jagdish Chandra Bose experiment) so I dont think there is any point in that logic.
I have been a vegetarian since childhood. I try eating it once in a while but dont like it.
At some point and in some aspects of life we should take a step back from religion and take a look at things from a neutral perspective. Of course, if YOU feel that slaughter of animals is wrong and continue reguardless…I think that is morally worse than stopping eating meat. I am sure Allah will commend your stance on this matter rather that condemn you for being able to think.
And if anyone here has converted to veganism they have my upmost respect.
Uzzybuzzy, have a break, have a Kitkat, not only is it meat free but no children were hurt whilst making this commercial

Sadya, i have the same problem. 99% of the time i can't stand to eat meat, it's a habit that started over the past several years. Nothing dietary, just a personal preference. i make a point, that - once in a while, only for the reason that you mentioned above (in bold), i will have it once a week or something like that. Not more than that. i haven't completely written off meat either. It's just a personal preference, i just don't like to eat any type of meat. Maheenay main eik do din kha layti hoon, for the reason above. In my personal private opinion, i don't think there's anything wrong in doing this...as long as i still have it once in a while.

As long as you make it unlawful just for yourself it's okay.
