can you say kashmir valley please, all of j&k is not kashmir valley and those certain kashmiri muslims don't represent all of j&k ethnic groups, can we leave that issue to the corrupted politicians playing with the sentiments of the people there(of j&k and the rest of south asia), political analysts and pHds that specialize in such things, even they aren't able to solve such a complicated, majorly messed up issue so the people of GS won't either

Thats hat you people were and are trying.. Kill Muslims and try to establish Hindu settlement in Kashmir same like Jews did to Palestine and now you are asking to call it like this or call it like that? bleh..
and to your topic.. I never this that can happen, because people with power and money wont let it happen and if they do then they will lost everything. America, Israel , Russia are having almost 1/3 part of their money coming from War machines. Why they will ever let it happen?

Why do most Pakistanis treat Nawa-e-Waqt propaganda as gospel truth. Non Kashmiri Indians can not buy any property in the state of Jammu & Kashmir. Even Muslim Kashmiri girls who marry a Muslim boy from outside the state are disqualified from inheriting their ancestral property. Just because Pakistanis ejected the Mirpuris from Pakistani occupied Kashmir, Punjabised it and Sunnised the Northern Areas (which was predominantly Shia) doesn't imply that Indians are following the similar tactics.

You will be seen as more cunning version of the RSS Hindutvavaadis. Rather than employing the rhetoric of "Akhand Bharat" you will be accused of using the sophistry of "South Asia" to weaken and assimilate the Pakistani identity into the Indian one. Pakistanis think that they have much more cultural, ethnic and religious affinity to Middle East and Central Asia then the people of India.

a south asian union is def possible but the mindset of people needs to change plus with a larger number of players involved 2 participants grievances will not be the biggest detractor from good of the group.

european countries fought each other much more fiercely than south asian countries.. yet overtime they formed the EU.

It would take a devastating war between the two countries for that to happen. Remember the European Union started with the coal and steel agreement between France and Germany removing the possibility of a future war (as coal and steel are essential material during war).

The history of the subcontinent did not start in 1947, India has already seen 4000 years of war, discord, invasions etc. I like to think Indian Union is the one whose model EU should be following rather than vice versa.
WRT India and Pakistan. The two countries have already chosen to follow wildly different trajectories since their respective independence. Identities have already hardened. Many Pakistanis rightly see their State as anti thesis of India. Mutual appreciacion for some superficial cultural aspects like food, culture, etc. doesn't change this fact.
I am much more hopeful in the case of Indo-Bangladesh reconciliation.
But that battle is still being fought ( Between the visions espoused by ANL and BNP) . Let's see who emerges victor.

In any country there are all sorts of people. I am sure there are many Indians who are sympathetic to Pakistani cause, just like there are many Pakistanis who are to the Indian one. But the direction that a State takes is dictated by its elite. Anecdotal evidence is irrelevant and often a red herring. The direction in which the State is guided by the Elite can be gauged by its text-books, Constitution, etc. That is why I don't see any Pappi-Jhappi between India and Pakistan in future.
And I am here to dispute propaganda like "Hindu settlements in Kashmir".

Another point : In any future South Asian Union, one of these nations will have to play the role of "Junior Parter". Which one is it gonna be ? Any rational individual will recognize that only Pakistan can play that role. But that will be direct assault on the "honour and dignity" of Pakistani Elite which plays a huge role in Pakistani identity. Hence the resistance.

I see it as more than just a south asian union, but one that involves China too, so yeah, I guess everyone will be a junior partner. thats all cool. after all europe grew from just the original EC to what EU is now, much broader in scope.
