is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

hey guppies, my walima outfit will probably be tea pink and gold and I wanted some ideas for what the groom should wear. Will a khaki suit look too casual for an evening event? It looks great at white wedding/ outdoorsy/day affairs. I just don’t know if it will look good in a desi event. What other options do I have that would make the groom’s suit coordinate with me but not look out of place.
A sherwani is not an option, since he’s wearing one on the wedding.

I can’t seem to attach pictures so I’m adding some links. Please share your opinions!

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

Personal opinion - this color is a complete no-no for a walima function. Why not black or navy blue?

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

what color is a no-no? pink or khaki?

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

if it is a night function - then this light color doesnt go well ....

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

:frowning: im really sorry but i dont like it! i know the black suit is been there done that but it does look pretty good! or why not try a navy suit instead as Pink and navy go amazing together? or a few of the below?

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

I've seen a navy 3 piece suit worn by a friend for his valima, looked really nice on :)

Will try to dig out a pic when I get home later on

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

Also, when you say khaki I keepi thinking of the khaki green colour which would just look weird. Do you mean like a light brown or beige colour. It'd look nice and summery with the pink I guess

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

yes i mean beige, not army green! I agree that that would look plain weird.
My other option was a light grey suit like the ones sohni649 posted.

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

i think it would look great! but a khaki suit in terms of the color, not the material, because that would be too casual.
this option is perfect- http://www.groomsoldseparately.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/tiffany-blue-and-tan.jpg
love the crisp white shirt with maybe a pale pink/gold patterened tie.

i don’t think grey would work but i second everyone’s thought on navy blue. i think that could look great too.

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

why cant grey work? pink and grey look so pretty together and there are so many shades of grey to choose from!!

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

i feel like grey would have worked better with the pink if the colors in my clothes and the general decor leaned more towards silver rather than gold.

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

Mmmm kinda like this one? its not too tan but not too dark!!

I actually like the grey a lot.

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

same! haha im going to keep it as an option for the walima i think :p

also, what is ur man's complextion like? u dont want to put him in something that might make him look drab!!

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

Khaki/beige and other light colored suits are a complete no-no when it comes to formal evening events (especially when the guy himself is the groom!!!!!).

Black, grey, or navy blue are the best options.

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

He happens to look good in all the colors discussed above :P - makes the choosing part even more tough! I guess I'll scratch out the khaki suit option.
I think I'll change my theme to pink and silver, including my outfit too. I'll be wearing gold for all the other events anyway, so that would be a refreshing change.

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

^^ I like that idea!!

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

My brother wore a grey suit on his walima with a pink tie, while my sister in law was in baby pink and the grey/pink combo went well together.

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

Khaki

Was pink one of the options?:disgust: :smack:

Re: is a khaki suit for the groom too simple?

I meant did you mean pink as a walima color is a no-no or a khaki suit. Obviously, a pink suit was NOT an option.
