Irene...

Re: Irene…

I am just one block away from Zone A (the mandatory evacuation area)
http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011/08/26/nyregion/new-york-city-hurricane-evacuation-zones.htmlAs of now situation is quite normal the hospital which is 8 blocks from my apartment is already evacuated, electricity/gas/cable/internet/phone is all working. I am sitting in patio and smoking sheesha, what else a man want.

I will be updating later on, if i live.

Re: Irene...

@Sara516 & @NyFella

stay safe.

Re: Irene…

I remember Hurricane Bob that we got caught in in the 90s.

I think they started alternating male-female names a few years back. Otherwise they were always female.

Re: Irene…

It’s okay. So far it’s only some very pleasant (though heavy) summer rain. I’m enjoying it.

I think it’s mainly coastal areas that are in danger.

Re: Irene…

Well marrying a woman is a lifelong hurricane..

Re: Irene…

Yeah, we always have our “eye” on you.

hahahahahaha. :amusedbymyselfsmiley:

Re: Irene...

Its getting worst in NYC with winds blowing over 40 miles... and storm is pretty far away. It's going to land around 10.00AM.

Yeh raat kabhi nahi aye gi, so enjoy.

Re: Irene...

so you want muslims to be blamed for natural disasters as well?

Re: Irene…

did I say that?

Re: Irene…

that was what i could read between the lines

i think it will look great to see names of hurricames like Aaliya, Babra, Chandni, Dania, Emaan, Fatima, Ghazala, Hooria and last but not the least…rename Irene to Inayat Bibi

Re: Irene...

I drank some chai and did the dougie this morning - the storm had passed.

Never really seen NYC this quiet. Even Broadway and 5th Avenue were quiet.

Re: Irene...

they just wanted to hault wall street for a day, there was no second reason behind all this :D

Re: Irene…

Even though the storm wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been, it did leave a lot of devastation behind. Here’s a picture of somebody’s car in my neighborhood. I’m sure he wasn’t not too concerned about Wall Street when he must’ve seen his car.

The flooding is not going to end till Wednesday. Still lots of damage to come. Please do a little dua for all the people who are suffering from this devastation.

Re: Irene...

Oh boy!! Prayers for u all.

Re: Irene…

Re: Irene...

Hurricane zubaida would be unique and catchy...

Re: Irene...

Mehroonisa

Re: Irene...

Irene has done a lot of damage around here. There are people still without power and in some places no power means no water either. Not a good situation to be in.

Re: Irene...

Yeah I was pretty surprised. I was in CT when Irene came. No power. What's surprised me was that my apartment in NY is right by the beach which was evacuated. Not a single damage here. Thanks to our mayor for his excellent response. I just wanted to be back in NY ASAP. Things weren't good in CT.
