I thought it was Amresh puri who said Ja beti Ja. but anyway… the reason I thought it was stupid is because the dady was so stubborn in the whole movie and he just ruined it at the end. Sometimes, the demand of the movie is not to give it a happy ending. I sure felt like that the writer and the producer ran out of ideas at the end. I also felt like it had to have a happy ending even at the cost of compromising the spirit of the movie.

I found the Ja beti Ja seen a comedy one. I swear. I was like what the heck. The movie qayamat se qayamat tak is an all-time favorite movie for many (including me) even though it didn’t have a happy ending. Even if they had to have a happy ending in DDLJ, they didn’t have to do it with ja beti ja - tujhay is say acha laRka naheeN mil sakta. Come on now.
