The people that live in the remnants of the Soviet Union are the same people that lived there before it collapsed. Not really. He reminds me of a Muslim version of Bush. A man who is utterly incompetent, complete failure in his domestic and foreign policy agenda, gets his support from the Religious right wing and uses religious elements in Shia Islam to conduct his foreign policy just like Bush with his staunch support for Israel as all of Israel needs to be under Jewish control for the Messiah to return.
Well if he keeps this up, I dont think the West will be dancing for that long but preparing to fire Tactical Nuclear Weapons to take out his facilities. And what he has done is become the new Boogey Man for the West. While Khatami reached out to the West in a dialogue of Civilizations and even proposed a Student exchange program with USA, this man just like Bush by calling Iran an Axis of evil has made it very difficult for Iran and the USA to come to a mutual understanding.
Well he is a politician. Just like how Bush won in 2004 by appealing to the rural and religious vote, Ahmedinijad is doing the same by appealing to the religious right and people who feel that Nuclear power should be theirs.
And just like how Bush underestimated how difficult it would be to invade Iraq, he is doing the same with how difficult it will be to challenge USA and the West in the matter of Nuclear brinkmanship
But just like Bush, that doesnt make this man a smart or intelligent person but just a religious nut

If he wants Regime change in Israel, he should state that instead of wiping Israel off the map which pretty much means end of Israel's right to exist, the expulsion of Jews and for Palestinians to create their country on Israel
He questions the Holocaust, the murder of 6 million Jews, to show that the Jewish people never suffered and he is going to change the status quo
The Soviet Union was dissolved but the people stayed there and nor did others come into former Soviet Republics and take over the government. His example doesnt make any sense.

The problem was Arabs attacked Israel, Israel fought back and Israel took over areas which had Palestinian majority. the Palestinians fled with the retreating Arab armies which created the refugee problem and in 67 when arabs attacked again it created the occupation problem
Every single country in the world has now acknowledged that Israel is a country here to stay and once the Palestinian issue is solved there will be diplomatic relations except this buffoon in Iran.
And what he does is host conference that questions the holocaust and that brings in such notable dignatiries such as the Leader of the Klu Klux Klan. Bravo

Actually I dont even watch CNN or Fox.
I watch BBC because it coves global issues but CNN, Fox, MSNBC are just plain boring. Although Hardball with Chris Matthews and Countdown with Keith Olbermann are pretty decent shows.
American News channels, all they ever cover is what is happening America or the latest on the kidnapping of some pretty white girl and not enough global issues.
I read my news on the Internet and I have subscribed to English Al Jazeera and watch that on my Computer.
As for Ahmedinijad's comments. He basically wants to destroy Israel, expel its population. His ridicilous comment about comparing USSR to Israel has no merit but just a pathetic way to disguise his true feelings about Israel.
