You heard the term 'Jewish'...
They use that term mostly because many they just identify themselves as Jewish instead of Arab Jews or Iranian Jews or Pakistani Jews.
They are hate crimes committed agaisnt them so they cannot feel part of that culture while still being a Jews, so they consider themselves just Jews.
