Using this term is not stereo typing and it's definitely not RACISM. Confusing it HOMOSEXUALITY and treating Metrosexual men as HOMOSEXUALS, on the other hand, IS wrong.
If you say that metrosexuals are metrosexual (duh) it's not stereotyping, however
If you say that Irani men are metrosexual, because the few that you have encountered in your life were metrosexual, it's stereotyping.
By looks alone, metrosexual men could be stereotyped as gay men. So you do the math and you'll know why some people might think that they are gay...
No racism? What a strange thing to say from someone who told me in his own words in another thread:
**‘Word of advice keep your half-cast kids in London because im not joking when i say in B’ham they would get totally abused..’
**
(Oh, and he meant by other Pakistanis)..Contradict urself much? LOL
Aisha, there tends to be more racial tension and more segregation of certain Pakistani communities up north (even from other Muslims) that u don’t get nearly as much of in London..
Granted the cost of living is much cheaper, but then the same can be said of nearly any place outside of Greater London. There are obviously more mosques (also Regents Park and East London Mosque have great reputations and a greater mix of Muslims of different nationalities that u simply don’t get outside London), more Muslim events like GPU, more choice of halal restaurants, better shopping (can Birmingham compare to New York, Paris or Dubai in terms of shopping?), even for cheaper shops it’s ridiculous to say Birmingham is better than London when all the flagship stores are down here..
If u love the Muslim lifestyle in Dubai and want to meet and live amongst a vibrant mix of Muslims London is defo the place to be. In terms of education as well of course London has better schools and world-class unis like Imperial, UCL, LSE etc that are miles ahead of either of those in Birmingham. I doubt anyone would seriously choose Birmingham City or Aston Uni over any of those I’ve just mentioned unless they couldn’t afford to live in London or wanted to stay at home with their parents or something.
Aisha, this particular poster thinks us desis in London are ‘lost’ which I think sums up how seriously u should take him.. A mod even said to him:
‘Shamus you are indeed a shame to the Pakistani community.’
Nothing wrong with metrosexual, all men should wax their chest/tummy, back/shoulders, upper-arms if it's hairy... I don't agree with eyebrow waxing though, that's wrong on men, maybe a trim but not tweezing/waxing.
As for Iranians personally I find Iranians very bland, they don't have that spice to them, or Turks or Afghans, I find them all awfully bland, pheekay.
A lot of them are actually gay, I've walked through the gay area of town a few times for shopping and a few have even approached me, so have other middle eastern guys, they're like yuccckyyy, freaks me outt, i say im straight and walk off...
I find that we Pakistanis and Sikhsare the most attractive in the whole wide world, followed by Latinos/Hispanics (south central American ones).
I like the way Iranians dress though, pants and stuff, I hate it when Paki men even in this country wear horrible scruffy shalwar kameez, such a unpresentable dress, it gets creased very easily and looks like midieval rugs, gives Pakis a bad image. It's mostly the old geezers and religious types who think it makes them closer to God or something so stupid, shalwar kameez has nothin to do wiv religion, it's just an outdated aspect of our culture
^ Lol, Aisha, I posted that against my better judgement. Actually, am surprised he hasn't come back and called me a 'traitor to my race' etc. for being with a non-desi..
Btw Farzan Athari does a lot of modelling in London (he does desi stuff as well), so another plus point there :D
^ I noticed he was banned, it only happened last nite tho, ages after I wrote that post, a couple of his posts have vanished as well.. Anyway, nice to see the back of a person so full of blind hate..
