Iran

The wonderful architecture of the masjids isn’t the only thing intriguing about Iran. Ancient Persian architecture is just as fascinating. I would love to have an opportunity to go to Iran someday if for nothing else, then for the historical education alone.

:flower2:

^ So true!

I have lived there for 7 years
The architechture for sure, and also the landscape… Not to forget the Caspian sea.. :k:

Maybe I’ll scan some old pics, and post them here.

im told that the people are very inhospitable towards foreigners...particularly subcontinental.

is that true?

Re: Iran

You can swing by there when you visit your ancestral home in Greece :k:

Sounds more like Saudi Arabia.

I had friend who visited Iran and he got a pretty good welcome, not sure if that was representative of the region as a whole.

my sister went there two years ago.

she came back with that impression.

I also lived there about 4.5 years. Loved it even though I was very young at that time.
If the opportunity comes I would love to go and live there.

I have seen most of Iran by road. Tabriz, Isfahan, Persepolis, Caspian sea and a lot of other hillstation resorts.

Definately a beautiful place.

Thanks for your responses. I would love to visit Iran, like I said earlier. The place seems like it has alot to offer.

It is a beautiful place, never been in iran though but know how its like :p
have relos there, planning to visit them..
going on a car from pakistan to iran is amazing.. you get to see so many beautiful places..

I've been to Iran! If your not persian, don't speak farsi then they treat you like crap. If you think the Arabs are bad, then Iran makes them look like kings!

^Please share ur experience..
ps. maybe to some pakistanis they feel that way n treat them like that, but not all..

Gross generalization. There are also those Iranians who are extremely nice, hospitable, and courteous.

your the one to talk, was it not you in the other thread who was making fun of how “ugly” that girl was?

its funny how when i say ONE thing everyone here jumps and says its called “generalization”, but when I’ve gone through this whole forum for a month now and seen that happen but nothing came from anyone.

I lived in Iran for nearly two years. The people are friendly and the country itself is beautiful. North of Tehran, up in the mountains is the place to live. Isfahan has some very beautiful mosques. I would love to go back.

^Esfahan has some of the world’s most gorgeous masjids indeed. :k:

Insh’allah when I do go to Iran, it will be a road trip from Pakistan into Iran so that I am able to enjoy every moment of the trip without missing any of the sights and sounds of the place.

Do you guys have pics to share?
Has anyone been to Shiraz?

i was go there 8 years ago.

Oh my god, U were!!! Now my information superstore is complete.
dohhh!!!!

Anywho, had to get that out. People are the same every where u go, just as discriminating as ever (ever been to Paris?). It just depends on who u meet. I've been all over and met all kinds of people. If ur in a certain section the people don't treat u good, 2 blocks away they're all nice and friendly.

The Iranis I've met have been mixed, hence no substance to the story.

Any pics coming soon ?

Re: Iran

How welcoming are they to Sunni Muslims? How hard is it to find a sunni mosque? Would love to visit Tehran.
