His true words were: بايد از صفحه روزگار محو شود (bayad az safha e roozgar mehev shud). Where is the word for “map” (naqsha, nigasht) here?
If anything, it is Israel which has threatened to wipe Iran off the face of map.
The better translation would be something like: “vanish from the pages of time”. Which is vanishing of Zionizt regime. Like the USSR regime.

But of course, if someone is willing to tell lies like Iraq’s WMDs to initiate a war or further sanctions then common sense or truth really does not matter.
It is the same people who still believe that Iran’s Quds force gave money to a failed Iranian car dealer to hire a Mexican drug cartel for killing Saudi ambassador right in the US. And the method Iran used to move money for this operation was through its own bank.
