Re: Iran leader: Holocaust a ‘myth’
Dear Dope,
The Isrealis are very smart people. Do you know the history of the Stealth fighter? Let me educate you:
The Lockheed F-117A was developed in response to an Air Force request for an aircraft capable of attacking high value targets without being detected by hostile radar systems. By the 1970s, special materials and techniques had become available to aircraft designers that would allow them to design an aircraft with radar-evading or “stealth” qualities. Streamlined management by Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, combined breakthrough stealth technology with concurrent development and production to rapidly field the aircraft. The first F-117A was delivered in 1982, and the last delivery was in the summer of 1990. The F-117A production decision was made in 1978 with a contract awarded to Lockheed Advanced Development Projects, the “Skunk Works,” in Burbank, Calif.** The first flight was in 1981, only 31 months after the full-scale development decision**. Lockheed-Martin delivered 59 stealth fighters to the Air Force between August 1982 and July 1990. Five additional test aircraft belong to the company.

The F-117 was basically made out of off the shelf parts in a new skin. If it was me, I would have taken 10 of those F-15s they have out of service, converted four to stealth tankers, and the other six into attack planes. How hard is it? Certainly the Isreali’s have enough fast computers, scientists and manufacturing capability to do it. A few leaked secrets, or samples of materials intentionally left out overnight could fill out the question marks. They could have those things flying over Damascus all of the time, and nobody would know it. This is not rocket science, the technology is over thirty years old. If they can design the Arrow interceptor, they can design a stealth plane.
They have been planning this for 20 years, do you think that they do not have every detail thought through by now? Even if they only take out part of the nuclear system, it will delay things ten years. That is a fine start. They can pay a return visit any night they want…
They also scare the crap out of the rest of the Arab world as a bonus.
(And yeah, they would have to fly over Jordan and Iraq. Do the Iraqis have any functional radars left? Would Jordan care? Would those Russian missle systems be delivered on time, and could they really detect stealth delivery vehicles? Hmmm)
