… TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has described the Holocaust as “a myth” and suggested that Israel be moved to Europe, the United States, Canada or Alaska.
The United States, Israel and the European Commission – along with individual European countries – have condemned the remark.
Ahmadinejad sparked widespread international condemnation in October when he called for Israel to be “wiped off the map.”
Last week, he also expressed doubt about the killing by the Nazis of six million Jews during World War II, but Wednesday was the first occasion when he said in public that the Holocaust was a myth.
“They have invented a myth that Jews were massacred and place this above God, religions and the prophets,” Ahmadinejad said in a speech to thousands of people in the Iranian city of Zahedan, according to a report on Wednesday from Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.

This part bothers me too,if they have nothing to hide then what is the problem?
My guess is that is about the number of victims there is no doubt that genocide of jews did occur but is the number of 6 mil inclusive of soviet PoWs, poles ,gypsies and homosexuals as well? And what about the 9 million plus ukranians starved to death by stalin we never hear of a ukaranian genocide
well it would be a simple matter of throwing a peer researched paper at him to understand he’s a boob for not knowing this historical ‘fact’ but alas none exists.. it’s not the theory of Gravity he’s questioning.. although he’s met the same treatment Galileo did from the Church..
wonder why there are laws in some countries forbidding questioning or researching the myth of holocaust.. truth needs no man made laws to uphold it..
That’s very big of Ahmadinejad. It’s the perfect solution to the “Middle East peace process”: out of sight, out of mind. And given that Ahmadinejad’s out of his mind, we’re already halfway there.
While I dont espouse the categorical denial of Holocaust, I do take issue with the fact that a number of historians are behind bars today for even questioning the veracity of the "six" million number. They did their research and suggested to revise the numbers down from 6 mill to 3 mill. Needless to say, Zundel, Irving and Cole were attacked as racist anti-semites and for writing revisionist history. May be there are.
Regardless, I never thought I'd live in a world where a person can be arrested for an opinion or researching history.
