Who said anything about being proud of it? I disagree with you. It seems like the amount of non-practicing Iranians far exceeds that of non-practicing people from other races. I have yet to meet a Pakistani that doesn’t believe in God, even if they don’t practice. I’ve met many Iranians who don’t believe in God at all, and yes, they were born Muslim.

That’s the point..
