A majority of Israelis say their biggest concern is Iran and they also believe the Jewish state is struggling for survival, two opinion polls published on Friday showed.
The polls reflect fear over Iran’s nuclear programme and frustration at the army’s failure to crush the Iranian-backed Hezbollah guerrilla group in Lebanon during the recent war.
A poll in the Yedioth Ahronoth daily said 53 per cent of Israelis believed Iran was the most worrying factor in the coming Jewish New Year, which begins at sunset on Friday. Only 12 per cent cited a renewal of hostilities with Hezbollah.
The second poll, published in the Jerusalem Post, said 75 per cent of Israelis believed Israel was struggling for survival.
Many Israelis feel the outcome of the 34-day Lebanon war, which ended under a UN truce on August 14, has left the country more vulnerable in a region of Muslim foes.
lol they r concerned, they must be kidding...they r the victims, and the lebanese were terrorizing them...what a bunch of terrorists...y r they scared of the survival of the jewish state...i mean whatever casualties they faced, there like at least 5 times as many on the other side. If Iran is biggest concern for Israelis then it should be the biggest concern for US as well, just like what happened with Iraq, someone will try to do the same with Iran.
Israel has probably much more ammunition then all its neighbors combined and as per history as well as according to you Israel can take care of itself then why should US bother and take all the burden of invading, killing others on itself?

Israel has indeed triumphed but the country is so small, the population so small as well that it needs outside help to sustain such a large army.
It has no trade with its arab neighbours, arabs dont sell it oil, and any moment, its entire workforce can be called up to join the forces and defend the nation.
True, Israel has defeated its numberical superior Arab forces but if USA were to stop helping Israel, Israel could no longer field such a large military without going into an economic collapse.
And with that, Israel will appear vulnerable to the large, well financed arab armies
And to defend that country US is destroying other nations, creating more enemies for itself, denting its own economy, losing its own people, losing its credibility around the globe and very soon it will lose its power as well, now I don't know what is important for US its own people and economy or a foreign country far far away.

Paranoia aside, all of US foreign policy is not based on Israel or animosity toward Muslims. And all delusions aside, the prediction of the demise of the US may be a little premature, despite your wishes.
Well those nations are ready to sacrifice themselves to see Israel destroyed such as Iran, so the blame lies not with Israel but with genocidial notions on its enemies.
So when Israel is threatened with annhiliation, USA shouldnt help it out because some of those nations might get angry?
