I must have missed something, or please enlighten how this is related. Have 16,000 women and 500 men have been cautioned in the last week over these “laws”? Are the police rounding up everyone who is giving a dog whiskey? Are mobile police units out looking for people shooting rabbits from motor boats? Is everyone who ties a giraffe to a telephone pole being exiled to remote areas of the country?
While it may be a shortcoming of US’ political system that these outdated, unenforced laws are still on the books, what shortcomings are to blame for this round up of ‘westernized’ Iranians?

P.S. They are being harrassed, arrested and detained by the Islamic police in Iran - not just 'cautioned'. Walking naked down 5th Ave is not the same as having a different haircut or the wearing the wrong color headscarf.

well afte hearing what all u ppl said therz 1 thing left for me to say and that is no1 can make any1 do something by force every law or wateve they call it shud have a logic and i dont c anything in it. western cut wait a minute wat is a western cut anyway!???!! and i think that rite now what the maulvis in pak and other muslims countries are doing it s just exploitation of ppl they r using religion to get wat they want cuz they know they will get it. i think this type of things are only helping muslims to achieve thier extremist image all over the world thanks to our maulvis.
