Instead of broad undefined banning of certain hairstyles they should implement there own "permissible" ones and declare all others as impermissible.

Make them a standard and issue the info. to all barbers and "Virtue Police" or whatever.
Their Top 10 list might be:

  1. Ayatollah Cut
  2. 12 Imam Cut
  3. Basic Upsidedown Bowl cut (desi peyala cut)
  4. Ahmedinijjad Cut
  5. Total Shia Cut (need better definition)
  6. Muqtada Al Sadr Cut
  7. Hassan Nasrallah (Hizbulllah) Cut
  8. Ex-president Khaminai cut
  9. Karbala - I hate America Cut (need better definition)
  10. World Famous - I wanna be like Zidane cut (since Iranian's love soccer) - Nationality doesn't matter when it comes to being a fan.

Fact of the matter is, Islam has no provision for giving the state the power to ENFORCE these matters. You as an individual might be held accountable as to your hairstyles for all we know, but there is nothing in Islam that gives the State the right to enforce punishments for matters of fashion.

Its pathetic. The fact that the ban is against "western" haircuts, and not jaahil looking eastern unkept looks, shows that this is not an Islam issue, but a political issue. They just want to oppose anything western as a political statement.

The sad thing is that they're willing to hurt the livlihood of their own citizens (barbers) to get the point across to western civilizations that could care less.

Its a silly regulation (hair bit) but i am for anything that stops men from turning into women. So if that comes with this package than cheers!
