Goodnews
It was a very tough competition because all the submissions were fantastic. Each essay came with a unique and different perspective and highlighted something special about Iqbal’s work. This was indeed a learning experience for many of us who are aware of Iqbal but may have never gone back to dig up detailed reflections and meanings of his work and how it impacted our nation.
Thank you for the time you took to put together the essays. Congratulations not only to the winners but to all of you for bringing a nostaligic and patriotic excitement to Cafe, and thank you to all the Cafe-ites for your wonderful response in the comments section of the essay competition.
I also want to mention that the judges were the Mods of Cafe and HHL (our mystery judge), and once we had all the results in, we averaged out the numbers and determined the winners. Essays were judged for substance, originality, writing style, composition and organization.
No kasoor, someone had to come 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We thought you and sunny are more flexible and understanding than the others so we shoved you aside. At least you are just talking about a hunger strike, the other three had threatened us with guns.

Thanks to all those who participated by taking out their time and special thanks to current mods of cafe for organizing this and doing a wonderful job by carrying it out. :k:
Now Aliyish, if you can send me your address along with $100 via Money Gram/Western Union, your painting will be on your way.
