Surprising since he wanted to achieve 10,000 runs before he retired. ICL may have played a role
Re: Inzy retiring
he wanted to achieve 10,000 runs before he retired.
and they say sachin bats for records...
Re: Inzy retiring
An inevitablilty but sad nonetheless.
Gonna miss his presence on the pitch; he did great things for Pakistan and stood tall for the country at the Oval. Deserved a better send off than this though.
Thanks Inzi for everything ![]()
Re: Inzy retiring
Great guy..I admired him greatly as cricketer. He provided some good laughter also. But he will be remembered for his lazy elegant and innocent smiles..
Oval was his worst point though. It was total un-sportman like behaviour.
Inzi the cricketer will be missed a lot.
Re: Inzy retiring
iconic pakistani batsman for the good part of two decades
Re: Inzy retiring
One of the greatest cricketers produced by Pakistan.
Re: Inzy retiring
I have not heard/read these news anywhere.....
Re: Inzy retiring
Greatest cricketer:jhanda:
Re: Inzy retiring
What is soooo great about him? He never delivered when Pakistan needed it in any matches. At least, imran delivered and we got the world cup.
Re: Inzy retiring
Great batsman. He'll be missed. It's a shame that all of our great cricketers, including IMRAN KHAN, were pushed out at the end. None seem to have left at their own will.
Re: Inzy retiring
So you think winning worldcup is only considered delivering..This means following cricket never delivered
Botham
Hadlee
Sachin
Dravid
Lara…

If inzi is considered a guy who didnot delivered then no cricketer ever delivered.
Re: Inzy retiring
i thinks he wants that worldcup should be held after each 6 months
Re: Inzy retiring
one of the greatest cricketers Pakistan ever produced. I think he should have announced this when he reitred from ODI's. But nonetheless, if true..a good decision by him..cuz he knew he wasnt gonna get selected anyway.
Re: Inzy retiring
I'm surely gonna miss him - His batting prowess has been the highlight of my cricket watching years… I missed him most in the latest 20/20 final when I was so sure that if he were in place of Misbah (granted… in the same form too), then Pak might have made it. He had a knack for taking Pakistan past the finish line.
I was never a fan of his captaincy and/or leadership skills or lack thereof – but as a batsman, I have great respect for him.
I was hoping to see him in a few more test matches for Pakistan – and to see him leave with a record that would have officially put him in the books. It’s a pity to see him leave forcibly.
It’s quite shameful to see the PCB “negotiate” his exit in return for an honor gala… despicable really - the level of ungratefulness!
Re: Inzy retiring
Inzi, the 8th greatest pakistani player ever
after
Imran, Javed, Waseem, Waqar, Zaheer, Hanif & Yousuf
Re: Inzy retiring
inzii retired
Re: Inzy retiring
As per jung, PCB has reached to an understanding with Inzi that he will be included in 2nd test of the SA series and he will announce his retirement on Friday and 2nd test will be the last one of this career. PCB will organize a farewell party for Inzi and will “gift” him 100,000 Rs. (Deals all around
)

What a great player he is, what a sad way to retire !
Re: Inzy retiring
I hope he gets a century. South Africa is the only country he doesn't have a century against.... he came close early this year with a match winning 92 not out, but he ran out of partners before he could complete the century.
Re: Inzy retiring
not 100,000 but 10,000,000 (Rs. 1 Corer).
Inzi was a very good batsman of his time. Very exciting to watch when in full swing. However, he had a dumb cricketing brain, was a bad athlete and worse captain (dictator for nothing).
He can coach under 16 as a batting consultant. Only thing he can tranfer to next generation is timing the ball, he was great at it.
