I opened this thread to track if Inzi will be able to surpass Javed Miandad test score.

Javed Miandad Test score 8832 in 124 matches and 189 innings.

Inzimam-ul-Haq Test score 8650 in 117 matches and 193 innings.

This includes the score of current test day 1 against SA.

Inzi is on 35 not out as the 1st day is over. He needs another 182. InshAllah he should be able to do this by the end of this 3 test series against SA.

Yes he will pass Javed record. When he eventually does break his record can we expect shower of gifts for him.........?

I personally would like him to quit captaincy after the WC but continue playing as a test batsman until 2008-9. He could even become the first PAK batman to score 10,000 test runs.

^ I don't think breaking country's own record should shower you with gifts, yeah if you break world record or create then there might be a token gift. Were there any such in pasts?

Another record up for grabs
If Inzi scores a hundred against SA (ideally tomorrow) he would join a select band of seven batsmen who have all scored a hundred against each of the other 9 test playing nations.

Well Inzi got out on 1 (thanks to the umpire) so he still need another 47. InshAllah in the 3rd test.

Inzi needs 48 more to go past the legendary Miandad, a hundred in the next game would do nicely and also complete a set of hundreds against every test nation
