He also is gonna resign from captaincy but will continue to play test cricket.
Despite recent setbacks and the worldcup, Inzimam is/was one of the greatest batsmen to grace this planet earth. Cricket will miss you Inzimam, Pakistan will miss you
Just heard on the Geo News but I was too sad to post this honestly...........I feel like crying all the time about BOB. saw him packing his laptop yesterday and I think he was a great man. He never came on Media to blame anyone, never spoke anything against Pakistan or Pakistan team, great respect for BOB WOOLMER.....
God bless his soul.....
All in all good decision by Inzi at the right time!!! I am sure all team is sad at this moment
*sigh... I wanted him to play till next world cup... a good decision would have been to retire as a captain and perhaps he would've been able to deliver most.. but he knows himself and his potentials better than us fans :(
Thats the first bit of good news we've all heard in a long time, although I do find the timing of this announcement a bid odd. Should have waited till he got back to Pakistan.
Lets see whether they consider him for Test side or not. It is sad that his career ended on this note, he deserved to be in Super 8 and I wished to see him against Australia, South Africa and England for last time, but it never happened.
People before this accused him of staying captain for life and so, it was never his intention, but during all these years he has done more than anyone could ever imagined for Pakistan. He was the backbone and the soul reason for our success for so long.
I am still proud of him, the loss of WC was not all his fault. He did more than just being a great player, just a true, sincere and a great human being. I am proud of you Inzi, despite all the obstacles you manged to shine and put yourself in the elite class, can not imagine Ponting, Waugh and Kallis to go through the politics of Pakistan cricket and shine like him at the same time.
Inzi is was and always be the best, the one who took the tourch from Javed Miandad and took us to new heights. Thank you very much...
First Supreme Court judge suspension/islamabad attack/2 games lost in WC/ Coach passed away and now this .. :-swats more to come .. everything in less than a month.
**Inzamam decides to retire from one-day cricket
**JAMIACA: Pakistan cricket skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq has decided to retire from one-day international cricket.
According to Geo news correspondent Abdul Majid Bhatti, Inzamam consulted his friends about his retirement after yesterday’s defeat by Ireland with 3 wickets. Later he consulted his father, who advised him to retire from international cricket and resign from captaincy of Pakistani team. Inzamam said he would play Test cricket only as a player and resign from captaincy.
He will announce his retirement from one-day international cricket and captaincy
in coming hours.
a great player, and a batsman who won us more matches than i can remember.
tragic that he had to bow out like this, but there is nothing else he should've done.
another time, his retirement might've seen a country recounting his many many runs, and the importance of those runs at different times and matches that we would never have won without him.
He also is gonna resign from captaincy but will continue to play test cricket.

Well this was widely expected. He could n't really have continued as captain after the latest WC debacle. And I always expected him to continue playing test cricket for another year or two.
