The almighty Waheed Khan said the same thing a day before '99 Final. Too bad many threw fresh tomatoes in his face at that time, and kissed his feet the day after.

He doesn’t need to be Inzamam, Ponting is the leader of cricketing world. Inzamam is not.

This test was like Inzi just watching from the fence doing nothing and only one bowler destroyed the opponents providing oppertunity for batsmen to do net practice on 180 runs with three days left.

Inzmam can only dream of becoming a Ricky Ponting. Put it this way Pakistan will never be able to beat Australia as long as Inzmam is the captain.

What u talking about man??? Yes Inzi will be legend amongst the Pakistanis not amongst anyone else. Ponting will not be forgotten - you just look at his statistics and centuries compared to Inzmam's.

The fact of the matter is, Ricky Ponting will never be forgotten, regardless of whether or not one originates from sub-continental background. Ricky Ponting is to Australia as Wasim Akram was to Pakistan. Granted some of the antics these legends have used over the course of their years have not been swallowed properly by the fans and the media and rightfully so, they both have served their countries very well, and the word "forgotten" should never come within 100 meters of Ponting's name (or Inzamam for that matter).
