Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has been banned for one test for showing dissent during the third and final test against India on Monday.
"We had a hearing with the match referee Chris Broad for two counts of excessive appealing and dissent," Saleem Altaf, manager of the Pakistan cricket team, told Reuters.
"On the first count, he has been fined 30 percent of his match fees and on the second, a level two offence, he has been given a one-test match ban."
Altaf said both instances were during the first half hour of play on Monday.
Pakistan won the test, Inzamam's 100th, by 168 runs to level the series 1-1. Altaf said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will decide if they want to appeal against the ban.
Pakistan are scheduled to play their next test in West Indies in May.

Two instances of caught behind/at slip were given not out by the umpires (one for Gambhir and Sehwag each). Naturally inzi was pissed and for once decided to show his emotions. And boy was he pissed!
But then the smile on inzi's face was one in a million when razzler dazzler hit a direct one at sehwag's stumps. Inzi ran to him and embraced razzler with a rib cage crunching bear hug. And boy was he happy!

It doesn't matter if Inzi is banned or charged match fee. The PCB should compensate the match fee and pay him a bonus.
He deserved to exert his emotion.. its all worth it with a win at the end.
Btw.. is Ganguly getting in trouble for being memorized by Afridi's ball that turned a metre in and hit the off stump? Ganguly stood there for a long time, and the umpire kept telling him your out, so get lost. That was one of the best sites to see.

I don’t think PCB should even waste their time appealing. They should not reprimant Inzi either. That Ghambir decision was pathetic, but it was lucky for us. Had Gambhir been given out, then who would have ensured that Sehvag gets run out. 
It was great to see our Captain finally energized enough to be pissed off. Great sight! :k:
Pakistan should invite Bangladesh for a one-test match in late April, and shove it to ICC.

Generally umpires don’t raise their fingers when batsmen get clean bowled. Ganguly was so shocked, that he thought there was a failed stumping attempt, as his feet was inside the crease and couldn’t figure out why Pak fielders are jumping all over. He looked confused towards the umpire, and once the umpire raised the finger, he walked away disgusted with himself. He was not upset at the umpire’s decision or anything, so I don’t think he should be warned/fined for that. He just didn’t knew what was going on.
I think it was lucky that Afridi is not reprimanded for his sledging. I don’t mind some sledging here and there, as long as its kinda discreet and not over the top, plus it keeps the game exciting. But to sledge Dravid was in very bad taste. Dravid is a gentlman, and one of the best and most sobre batsmen in the world. Afridi had no business sledging him after every ball.

Reading some of the accounts that are posted on the net, seems Younis is a big "makhauli" on the field... and I use the word in very flaterring manner. He is jolly and keeps making one-liner comments to opposing team while batting or fielding. Ofcourse, the above only applies when he is playing India, cz all other teams speak only English and Younis' angrezi ends at "I vant to en-jayay".

Faisal i agree Afridi and co. shouldn't have been so harsh on Dravid. Rahul The Wall Dravid is one of the few players in the Indian team that i really respect. Laxman is another. I still feel bad about Laxman's swollen eye as a result of one of sami's bouncers. I mean even in the innings after that one and today too his face clearly looked injured. And to add insult to injury (really) he has now been sacked from the team.
But the opposition wasnt any less either. Test 3 Day 2 when Chuckinator Singh dismissed Razzler you should have seen his lip movement. He clearly said b***c*d and some other good words to Razzler while he was walking back to the pavillion. It was so clear infact that the camera crew showed a replay of his cussing once, then realized its probably too hot for TV, and never showed it again in the 2nd and 3rd replays.

Nah i don't really agree with both of you, Bhajji even swore at Younis Khan and he is by no means an aggressive person (he is a GENTLEMAN just like Dravid). Kaif used the same tactics to distract Youhanna's concentration and he did the same to Asim Kamal and aren't they both GENTLEMEN??? Afridi was doing it purely to distract them and he was being over aggressive sometimes but there was NOTHING wrong with that at all.
