Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

ManwithaPlan...
Fair play...but we lost to Ireland...if we had lost in the Super eights then i could understand but to go out at the first hurdle was what was embarrassing...
And Inzis been a great cricketer but what bull to come out with...what a copout...instead of accepting respsonsibility and apologising for the debacle hes blaming the fans and media for the pressure being put on him and the team...the aussies have pressure i dont see them moan about it...they are sportsmen and they deal with it...and the crap about every wicket being a bowlers wicket...the windies seemed to bat ok...ireland batted better than us and imran nazir got 160 on a bowlers wicket...please...
Im not going to hold the man accountable for the whole world cup and discredit his years of service but what a baby...

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

Where have you been? He has taken the responsiblity, apologised to the nation and announced his retirement, what else do you want?

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

Bechara Inzi...This whole thing was above his level of mental ability to say the least.
And now he is hoping for mercy and support from a group who literally live like vultures (the media). Not to mention our thankless nation living on pipe dreams.

Oh well. Life goes on. Since Naseem chacha has been given another life by our beloved PATRON in chief of PCB, we can expect another 4 years of roller coaster cricket from the Pakistan team. Or maybe I too need to light a candle on my muffin and believe changes will happen.

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

Matchfixing and murder allegations aside. As far as World cup squad selection and performance is concerned, Inzamam must take the responsiblity. He has dictated beyond his capablities and his favouritism is not stranger to anyone. Then comes Wasim Bari, Woolmer, Akhtar/Asif, Afridi, Nazir, Younis, Yousuf, Akmal and the Sabina Park pitch in that order.

We knew that we will not win WC, but the build up, selection, Waqar's sacking and Mushtaq's appointment and Inzi's poor captaincy, all left it the ugliest WC ever for Pak.

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

^ He has taken the responsiblity.

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

Media and we (as Nation) should leave Inzi alone. Guy took the responsibility, apologized and retired from the ODI. I dont know what else we want from him?

In the nation where no one from President to Nazim, Director to Chaprasee, Chairman to Selection committee is ready to accept the responsibility of anything, its his courage that he did it and resigned. Ager responsibility na bhee laita tu kaun sa we should have killed him? I am waiting yet to hear and apology and taking of responsibility from my senior politicians over more serious matters and blunders they made, this is just and sports!

chill!

PS: In worst case scenario, Inzi leveled it. He won us 92 WC and took big part in losing this one......

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

Ehsan...
I dont want him blaming pitches for losing to Ireland...i dont want him blaming lack of success on the fear of losing...i respect what hes done but hes chatting breeze at that conference...

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

^ Basically you want him to say "We (players) never wanted to WIN and thats what we did. We are sorry that we ever wanted that but its the truth, we all are really unskilled and dont know how to play cricket. We somehow got in the stream and get into Pakistani cricket team but really we dont know how to play cricket and reason to get kicked out of the tournament is only that I was the captain and under my captaincy, we never wanted to win" :)

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

DC i agree that taking responsibility for defeat and resigning was good thing to do that salvaged some pride of Inzi, but in this press conference, it appeared he in reality never took responsibility, he resigned for fear of being kicked out or too much criticism. If he had taken responsibility in real sense he wud not be blaming pitches, toss and media for such a dismal performance. Heck even west indies is such a poor team to loose to and on top of it Ireland.

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

This is what I want to hear from Inzi: " We are very talented cricketers but when it comes to mental strength, application and professional ethics, we lack a plenty. Pakistan as a nation is unprofessional, looking for short-cuts and mostly unethical. We are from this very nation. We try our best every time we walk in the field. Sometimes we win sometimes we lose. Don't expect miracles from us every time. Boys is good."

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

^Utni angrezi Inzi kaise bolegaa

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

Decent6chora...
I wanted him to say 'Us losing had nothing to do with losing the toss and bad pitches, either way we had the talent to beat poor teams like the Windies and Ireland, we had the easiest group to win but we didnt show up, our performances were disgraceful, i was terrible as captain and so were the rest of the players, we wanted to win but we were gutless and lacked application, any criticism i have recieved i am fully deserving of it, i am sorry to all the fans and i can only hope you can look past this and appreciate the 20yrs i have put into working hard for Pakistan, im sorry...

That would have been alright...

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

With Akhter out (as was expected) and some other players missing, its not good to blame Inzy or PCB management for poor performance and an early exit. Without Akhter, Pak is playing with some sort of alternative squad, anyways. Other teams entered the WC with best possible squads and so they played better than us.

Why blame Inzy and other players for poor performance when we failed to enter best possible team (that is a team with akhter)?

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

It was our batting that failed not our bowlers...thats why...Gul and Sami did a decent job considering...
It was not chasing a score against a poor West Indies bowling attack and making a **** score against Ireland that was the problem...
The so called reliable players flopped on the big occasion...

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

So you mean Ireland & West Indies had better bowlers.

NoOne in this World (more than 5 billion human beings) could have used that grassy pitch as efficiently as Akhter. :hoonh:

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

Sorry did you actually read what i wrote...im not suggesting that Akhat and Asif wouldnt have done damage...im alluding to the fact that it wasnt our bowling that let us down...our batting did...

Some can say the West Indies wouldnt have made 240 odd if Shoaib and Asif had been bowling...maybe but the likes of Younis, Yousuf and Inzamam should be embarrassed by making useless bowlers like Dwayne Smith run things...other than Pakistan which big team have the Windies ruffled with their bowlers...has Smith actually taken a wicket since...they have one good bowler Powell otherwise no-one...chasing the score they set should have been easy...batsmens fault that match...they werent beaten...they got themsleves out and lost the match...

2nd match...one can say that if Shoiab and Asif had been bowling then Ireland would never had made 130...is that a joke...since when should teams like Ireland or anyone for that matter be set 130 in the first place...Sami and Gul did what was expected of them...the batsmen didnt...disgraceful...

And the only time they actually turned up was when it didnt matter against Zimbabwe...what a poor set of sportsmen...they can only turn it on when there is no pressure to win...

One cant blame injuries for the debacle that happened...we had the easiest group...the Windies are the worst of the big teams snd Ireland are as good as Kenya...we had all our batsmen other than Razzaq and Afridi which was a blow but shouldnt have mattered against such poor opposition...

And Inzis excuses are we lost the toss, bad pitches, sorry but as a team you bottled it so dont moan at everyone getting pissed at you...you and your whole shambles of a team deserve all the backlash that you get...

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

I read you correctly and understood your point about the failure of batting, but that is just one lame reason. West Indies and Ireland won those matches because they did bat better and they had enough bowling options available to them as well. You can say, they had better bowlers.

As for Zimbabwe, they lost cause of their bowlers and batsmen. Just try to count the number of times 300+ totals have been scored against Zimbabwe. Imran Nazir scored his 2nd 100+ in that match (both centuries against Zimbabwe)

There are players and superstars in any squad. Akhter is special cause he can throw the fastest ball in this game and that is a God-gifted talent. There is no replacement for him and without him, Pak is playing with an alternative team. At times, a single superstar can decide the game for you and we missed the one.

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

This guy was one of the greats; agreed he had shortcomings as a leader but he definitely does not deserve the disrespect being meted out to him. Pakistan will have to wait for years to come across such a player again.

Re: Inzamam angry at Pak attitude

^Agreed! and seeing the current scene in the Pakistani cricket, i think one will even know what cricket is in years to come - everything i just going down the drain..
