It has alot to do with level of education; examples Miandad, Aamir Sohail, Sarfarz, Moin Khan and now Younis Khan. Having media skills is not a talent or learning behavior, you need education and professional environment to help deal with media. That is why we see Pakistani players making stupid comments. Media should act intelligently and do not create hysteria when they know someone is illitrate or do not have the skill of having a perspective.
there is another important thing which you need, Grey matter.
And people like Miandad, Moin and younis khan are not phD's they are as jahil as inzi in terms of education but they are not dumb.
Go and checkout some videos from mids 80's and see how stupid akram use to look in front of media.
And BTW developing media skills is definitely a learning behavior specially when you are in an enviroment where you have to give interviews almost every day, for instance cricket players.

Nope. Aamir Sohail sounds like a dumbass whenever he is on comentary box. Same will happen when Miandad, Moin and Younis Khan will take the same booth. Only Imran can do a good comentary, which has lot to do with having a perspective.
BTW, the statement by Akram is not a great media skill.
Talking abt education who other than Imran khan,Majid Khan,Rameez Raja,Saeed Anwar ...has any sort of formal education and degrees. However Wasim improved a lot becos of his county stint .His communication skills improved only becos of that .
If you watch ESPN legends of cricket and other Wasim interviews...he admitted he could not speak much english earlier on his career. Infact he was quoted as only saying "I want win" to his county side when he was made captain.
I just want to add one small thing here. Most of the Pakistani Cricket players were poor and illiterate when they join Cricket. I do not think we had or will have many players with Imran Khan's background, education and professional wise. Most of the players stay and play county cricket thus learn English and how to speak with media. If you look at past Cricketers, most of them had problems. It is our culture where most of the poor people find Cricket as their source of income.
Just look at Yousuf and Younis background. How they made to Cricket and stayed? Even though they are talented, they do not have the skill to talk to media.
Wasim Akram, Waqar Yunus, Mushtaq Ahmed, Aqib Javed all of these players belong to very simple backgrounds, never spoke a word of english in their early years but shared one thing in common, their desire to learn and grow as human beings. Whereas players like Moyo, Inzi belong to the Javed Miandad fraternity, poorly educated and refuses to learn anything new. Thus the inability to speak or write a cherent sentence no matter in urdu or english. These guys are stuck in their time warps, frozen in their narrow tunnel visions and comfortable in their own set ways.

By good education we mean good schooling, not necessarily bachelors degree etc. The problem is because most of our cricketers come from humble and uneducated backgrounds they lack good schooling and are therefore not very presentable to the media.
Well Inzimam's interview with Fakhr seems to remove the idea that he was a dictator. He had choices given to him by the board and selection committee and he took them as they came. Shame on the board for being so "weak" and incompetent.
