All I have to say is bohat dere se jaage Wasimbhai . Most of us already knew about Inzi’s stubbornness and the fact that he dictated the selection committee (which does n’t say much about the latter!). *Maamla thanda bhi ho gaya aur Wasim koh ab Pakistan cricket ka kuch pata chala. *

Wasim Akram, the former Pakistan fast bowler and captain, has lashed out at Inzamam-ul-Haq and called him a “dictator” in Pakistan cricket. In an interview on ESPN, Akram said that Inzamam had become so powerful that Bob Woolmer, the former coach who died under unexplained circumstances in Jamaica, and the support staff approached him for leave. “I have seen senior PCB officials sitting at his residence and awaiting orders,” Akram said. “These things are not good for cricket.” With Pakistan looking for a new captain, after Inzamam resigned from the post and announced his retirement from ODIs, Akram felt that Shoaib Malik, the allrounder, was a good choice. “The only ones who can handle the job are Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Yousuf,” he said. “Malik is young and he is talented. I don’t think we have much of a choice, if Younis [Khan] is not interested.”
Younis officially declined the captaincy, citing continuing mental strain after the traumatic events of the recent weeks as the main factor in his decision. He had been vice-captain under Inzamam for two years and was expected to take over the leadership. Younis had earlier rejected the post of captaincy during the Champions Trophy in India, when Inzamam was facing a four-match ban, on the grounds that he didn’t want to be a “dummy” captain. Akram felt that Younis would have been the best person to replace Inzamam but added that it was silly of Younis to make comments about absolute power and control. “For any captain, he must first win the trust of his teammates, get some victories under his belt and power will automatically come,” Akram said. “You don’t have to clamour for power.”
Disagreeing with former captain and coach Javed Miandad’s comments that the captain must not be given full authority, Akram said that in India and Pakistan the captain must be the boss as he leads the team out on the field. “Javed has been my mentor but I sometimes don’t understand what he says,” Akram said.
“When he was captain, Javed bhai wanted full control and now he is saying something else.” Akram said that everything would fall into place as long as there was a healthy interaction between the captain and selectors.
Dictatorship of Inzi or incompetancy of PCB? You decide!
Exactly right!!
Cricket boards should never hesitate in taking corrective action no matter if the player is a legend.....
This is where, even our "Powarful" Indian board has failed miserable.
After Sachin's outburst against Chappel before BCCI meeting, they should have expelled him for a match or two...just to make it clear that NO ONE is above board.
Instead Indian board demonstrated a considerable "respect" for "senior mafia" and is now happy with their explanation for some dubious "show cause" notice.
^ yeah, I just heard that Indian Cricket Board is not going to take any action against Sachin for the outburst against Chappell and Yuvraj for supporting him on TV.
It is because of our Cricket Board's ineptitude that we are declining. Every Cricket player has demons and attitude problems. It is Board that lays the law, if they are not fair than the employees are bound to misbehave or take law in their own hands.
^ the day they given sachin and Yuvaraj a "show cause" notice...I was sure, now drama has started to protect them....now exactly after one week...BCCI declares that they are happy with the "explanation" given by these two players in their reply!
BCCI still sucks as earlier!
Wasim bhi koi kaam nahin tha when he was skipper. But he calmed down significantly in his 2nd and 3rd stint as skipper and he also got results. Inzy's trouble was that the results didnt come so he's now a prime target. But again, as I said before, Akram should have opened his mouth earlier instead of joining the bandwagon when all the damage has already been done.
Wass Jee should have said something earlier, his silence makes him an accomplice and willing partner no matter what his reasoning.
Seems as if though Inzi is getting some payback for his days of arrogance.Well, like they say "What goes around, comes around"....when sun was shining on Inzi he did not give a damn, now that the sun has set and vultures are circling his caracass, music is getting louder and louder.
Good things happen to good people, bad things happen to bad people.
abhi yaad aaya hai waseem bhai ko? Plus, I am one of those who support powerful captains. I certainly prefer a powerful captain than a meek one. We lost the WC so everybody will criticize every aspect of Inzi's captaincy but does anyone remember the days of 5 captains in 5 days? Heck if I want to have that time back. At least Inzi meant consistency and continuity. If we had a better captain, I am sure the same continuity would've been praised by everyone now criticizing it. Anyone remember the reasons behind Imran being such a great captain?
All I am going to say is...give this poor soul a break. He's suffered enough. This is bordering on idiotic now.
As far as those feeling bad for poor inzi, they should have watched Geo Super exclusive interview this morning featuring Inzi and Journalist Majid Bhatti. Fakher asked inzi the reasons behind Irish defeat in Inzi view. For the very first time Inzi admitted on TV that yes we were pathetic in batting but at the same time it was ICC who gave us a green wicket and when that happens it doesn't really matter who is your opponent. In response Fakher said that inzi is it really that difficuly not to play deliveries going out of the off stump when Irish minnows where able to do that.
Again I would repeat, as long as he keeps on giving these bull **** statements, people will show no sympathy which he is asking from them.
I fail to understand what Wasim says he wants in a captain...He criticised Inzis tenure for being too dictatorial yet feels that a captain should have full control of the team...
One should also not forget the reasons Wasim was kicked out of captaincy by his team mates. He's just sour that Inzi became the powerful captain Wasim always wanted to be.
So Inzamam gets criticised for the same thing what Imran Khan was famous for, Inzi was probably half the dictator Imran was and yet Imran is considered one of the best cpatains in the history of cricket. The only difference i see between them is results, just because it didn't work out doesn't mean the intentions were wrong.
Wasim bhai like other GREATS is just dhoing hands in flowing ganga :P
Another one comes and hits hard when chips are down...........................
Abay bhai, Wass may have played a late shot but neverthelless it went for the full score, six.
Wasim, Imran, Javed Miandad all had there own ways of running the team, they had their likes and dislikes. But, they did not dictate who is to be the Asst Coach (MiniMe), who is to be the NCA Coach or not (opposed Aqib) both of these jobs do not come under the captains jurisdiction and that was respected by the past captains. Inzi for that matter was so full of himself that he went on a stampede like a mad elephant with no sense of direction.
Inzi koi becharra wecharra naheen hai, bara he baghairath hai. After the 2003 WC debacle where he managed on 6runs, he has been instrumental in Pakistans humiliating defeat once again in 2007, yet he refuses to acknowledge that and retire and give Pak cricker fans a much needed respite.

You make a very valid and pertinent point here, a very intelligent observation. Yes Inzi was meddling too much in the affairs of the PCB but then it also does n't say much about our bungling administrators at PCB in particular Saleem Altaf (chamcha or doyee call him what you will), the most beghairat and shameless PCB official in living memory. He was an average medium pacer who got a few chances to play for Pakistan when Imran was injured between 1982 and 1985 but saala hilne ka naam hee nahin lay raha, lota giri main Sheikh Rasheed ka bhi maaman lagta hai
