So basically my mums in pakistan right now doing my wedding shopping
BUT she phoned me the other day saying that the people that are making the invitations messed up the wording. They wrote form instead of from. something like that. ANYWAY this means that i’m going to have to get my invitations from the uk. Can anyone recommend any places they know for invitations?
Re: Invitations ruined.
they usually call the customer to read and confirm the spellings, etc a day after the order is placed ! where did she order from ?
Re: Invitations ruined.
print them at home. I did mine at home and they came out beautiful.
Re: Invitations ruined.
^ Which website did you use Lusi?
Can u put a photo up lusi?
And I'm not sure what went wrong exactly. My mum just phoned me saying they messed them up.
Re: Invitations ruined.
I don't think one word is going to make a huge difference. I'm sure they didn't print all the invites yet, right? Because I don't think they'd print them all without finalizing them beforehand, no?
Hope everything works out, Cuppeh!
Re: Invitations ruined.
If its only that one word then don't sweat it.
I'd never ever notice.
Really? Hmm maybe I should get in touch with my mum and ask her what's happening. She called me at such a stupid time when I was half asleep. Thanks for the advice guys.
M I'm not even sure what happened? I hate not knowing what's happening over there. Seriously brides go to Pakistan if you have the choice!! Stupid Uni ruining my life in more ways than one lol
Re: Invitations ruined.
Surely the printers should reprint IF it was their mistake. But your mum should have seen a proof and signed them off before the started printing.
I had mine printed in Pakistan, but coordinated from Karachi. They emailed me proofs, which I marked up and sent back - it did take aabout 6 efforts but we got there in the end.
You should speak to your mum and find out the details.
Re: Invitations ruined.
try to have them reprint…if they dont…i honestly dont think its a big deal ..its just one word:flowers:
Re: Invitations ruined.
I guess none of you guys frame your wedding invites? I would and the one word misspelled would bother me especially if I knew about it before. I mean in my opinion you're paying for a service and they should provide it and correct it if they make mistakes. It's not like they misspelled a complicated word. There's really no excuse for that kind of mistake.
Re: Invitations ruined.
I didn't frame mine, but I agree with terebina, it would bug me if a word was misspelled. It looks sloppy and I would not be sending out those invites. Either they would have to fix the spelling or I'd have to reprint the invites. I'm not spending thousands on having a nice wedding only to announce it to my guests on cheap paper with misspelt words.
Also, yes, your guests would notice, even if it was just one word. It might not bother them, but if they can read English, they'd see the spelling mistake. This would also bug me personally, but then, I'm pretty particular about invitations.
Were you able to find out exactly what happened, Cupcake?
Re: Invitations ruined.
I agree with SGC. It would drive me crazy and I wouldn't send them. But I also would argue with the printer.
Re: Invitations ruined.
That's pakistan for you LOL. For some reason they think Welcome is too words: Well Come. I've seen that on so many cards.
If the printers can't fix the mistake and reprint, demand some concession.
but I honestly don't agree with SGC and Sahar. don't stress yourself and pay more money for something this small. No big deal. No one's wedding is perfect and just because there was a tiny spelling error, it's not the end of the world - koi gul nahin.
Use that time and money on something else.
Re: Invitations ruined.
^ Yeah. I just think it would really bother me. But I would consider an affordable option for reprinting (if I had to). Or make my own with the sets you can get at Michaels and such.
Re: Invitations ruined.
yeah it would bother me too, but not so much for me to get all new invitations.
Maybe its me and what Ive been though, but im more laid back when it comes to wedding planning stuff. I'd just shrug it off.
Re: Invitations ruined.
^ It's probably best to have that approach :D
Re: Invitations ruined.
when i found out that my wedding cake was totalled, i didnt even bat an eye lash. My brother was more sad about it than me LOL
Re: Invitations ruined.
But yeah, in the US Michaels and other arts/crafts/stationary stores do carry the do-it-yourself invites and I think they’re quite nice.
I’m not sure exactly what is available in the UK, but it’s definitely worth checking out. http://www.michaels.com/Invitations/products-wedding-invitations,default,sc.html

(why can't I "like" your last post, Afshi?)
