Investors on GS

Hey guys, I trade pretty frequently in the US stock market. I was wondering if there are other investors on GS. Doesn’t matter what your investment philosophy is or which specific market or security you are interested in, I’d love to hear from you. Any specific companies you looking at closely now with the Libyan conflict and the Japanese crisis? Personally I made a neat little profit on URA (Global X Uranium) last week. Seems like the correction in it’s price is over and it’s stabilized. What do you guys think?

Re: Investors on GS

hmmm....I feel the best way to go is global with diversification..and Japan and Libya..well..these kind of stuff always happens so nothing to wrry abt, fluctuations in the market is a normal part of investing.

Re: Investors on GS

Volatility is a value investor's best friend.

Re: Investors on GS

^ Spoken like a pro. I'm sort of bummed with the market today. Every stock market under the sun closed lower, yet the US market opens higher...

Re: Investors on GS

I bought General Dynamics after the UN resolution against Libya ..

I bet US will use Tom Hawk Missiles to knock out Libyan defenses, so the US & Britain did. more then 300 they fired in first week … each cost 1.5 million $ .. .
GD is getting order for over a billion $ in next few weeks… hopefully summer will be good. :k:

Re: Investors on GS

i invested heavily in India and it's NOT interest based...it's profit sharing...the return on my investment varies every quarter :) i get better than average returns on my investments :)

Re: Investors on GS

As the saying goes, a value investor gets depressed as the market moves higher!

By the way, in your opinion, what is the fair value for S&P 500? And at what level would you jump in with both feet?

Re: Investors on GS

This is my dilemma. Am not for war. I know an investor should not bring emotion into the picture. But difficult to profit off someone’s ill fortune.

Looks like you have done your homework though.

Re: Investors on GS

So how do you go global. Do you buy one Global fund or 3-4 funds, one focusing on developed, another emerging etc?

Re: Investors on GS

Yes 3 or 4 funds..always good to be diversified..and to always have the different markets..Canadian, US, International (Asian (emering markets) & European, so that you don't have all ur eggs in one basket....that is how I feel...

Re: Investors on GS

Well I don't trade any more. However, I know my friends dad invested £100k in BP after the shares plummeted during the oil rig disaster.

Re: Investors on GS

You must be new to investing. Lol.

Re: Investors on GS

Or worst enemy....

Re: Investors on GS

Makes sense to me. Do you buy only stock funds or do you also include bond funds?

Re: Investors on GS

How is volatility a value investor's worst enemy?

Re: Investors on GS

Ok, I missed value. Fair dues.

Re: Investors on GS

^ No Problems.

Re: Investors on GS

depends on how aggressive you want to go....

Re: Investors on GS

ok.

Re: Investors on GS

OK. Thanks Ms. Khan
