Investors on GS

Re: Investors on GS

^lol.. :cb:

OK Mr. Southie

Re: Investors on GS

Have you invested in any Japanese or Libyan firms? I mean the best way to benefit is off other peoples miseries.

Re: Investors on GS

^There is also something called ethical investing for not benefiting off other ppl's miseries :D

Re: Investors on GS

The Financial world doesn't understand the word "ethical" only "profit"

Re: Investors on GS

^that unfortunately is the truth..but I have met some ppl who really do look into the funds and company they invest in...

Re: Investors on GS

What percent would you allocate to stocks vs bonds for

low aggressive
moderate
highly aggressive

Re: Investors on GS

This is just how I personally feel...

Re: Investors on GS

Ms. Khan,
Sounds like a sound strategy. (I think you inadvertently reversed the input for low and moderate.)

Now if you throw cash into the mix, what would the respective allocations be?

(Hope these repeated queries are not bugging you. Just wanted to get your insights.)

Re: Investors on GS

ohhh…sorry…about that :cb:

see the way i see it…you need you can lump in cash and bonds all together = fixed income…but cash would always be on a low %…maybe 5-7%…

and no the Qs are not bugging me

BTW do you keep calling me Ms. Khan…sounds so funny and soooooooooooo polite :cb:

Re: Investors on GS

Thanks Aaliya. You have a level head on your shoulders. Your approach makes a lot of sense.

On a side note, I heard somewhere that one can get the same amount of diversification (in terms of asset allocation) by increasing the cash portion in the cash bond mix. That is, a 60/40 stock bond mix gives same diversification as a 80/20 stock/cash.

Happy investing.

PS - a quick quiz. What are Warren Buffet’s 2 rules of investing? (No goooooogling, Aaaaaaaaaaaaliya)

Re: Investors on GS

Hawwww…I have no clue :o

now can I google :rotfl:

Re: Investors on GS

Rule #1 Don’t lose money
Rule #2 Don’t forget rule #1

Good night kiddo.

Re: Investors on GS

^Those are some very good rules…

But I always lose money…not by investing…jst careless..drives my mom up the wall :cb:

Re: Investors on GS

mmm how are the uranium stocks doing after the japan incident? buy op?

Re: Investors on GS

I can't see it would affect shares too much as Japan hardly produces any uranium? There will be no shortage in supply so I can't see uranium shares rocketing. :-\

Re: Investors on GS

erm no, but all the major uranium stocks and etfs have taken a double-digit dip since the japan incident due to fears that nuclear power will be unpopular in the near future.
