One who takes lessons from the events of life, gets vision, one who acquires vision becomes wise and one who attains wisdom achieves knowledge.

Pathwari no mon the name does not ring a bell. Around that time the ICI de-merger/divestiture of Zeneca was happening. I eventually went to the Zeneca group which does specialty chemicals and phramaceuticals vs IC which was more into industrial chemicals.

) . I have got a job as a visual basic programmer but have n’t finished the degree yet they are not going to wait so I am obviously confused . FRAUD ma man any advice .
first, how much longer until you finish your degree? if its only a short while..maybe you can try to complete it part time or evenings.
second, how is the job market in your area. Tech jobs in chicago are booming so much that its easy for programmers and developers to find placement. If it is the same in your area, I would suggest you finish the degree.
The reason is that as much demand as we have seen, the degree does become an issue down the road for promotions and growth. Companies pay for employees to go finish degrees and go for higher education as well, so maybe look for a company who is more education-friendly as well.
We had a certifications vs degree debate a while back and I can see if i can revive the thread. My personal opinion is that if the offer is very good take it, but dont let the degree go, continue it somehow, even if it is through evening or weekend classes.
depends where you are at. In US universities are bending over backwards to provide educational opportunities to IT professionals. Evening programs, weekend programs, distant learning etc etc and they are by reputed universities.
Degree often becomes an issue later in the career, especially in consulting where certain levels or groups require it. My group for instance will not accept anyone without a masters degree and experience.
In corp world outside consulting, it is similar where once you are on mgmt track you are expected to have a degree if not advanced degrees.
some people are happy pausing the education to make some money and get some experience, and then pick up classes later when they feel that they need that piece of paper to move up. More power to them.
Then there are others who are happy being a programmer/developer and maybe going up to a tech lead role, and thats their choice.
I am Nabeel currently in Pensylvania, USA working with The Vanguard Group, an investment company. I graduated with bachelor in Computer Engineering in May 2000 @ New Jersey Institute of Technology. Now I have joined Drexel University for MS in Computer Engineering as part time student.

yeah sohail is working as a consultant, he was in NYC but now is with a really kewl company. abay jaffry, i know you post here havaldaar saaab...are you in MA now or u in the NYC office?
You may have a while to get up there but proper planning is the best way to go. In some universities stiff competition begins from sophomore year to get the best internships and thus get exposure to top companies early. The goal after graduation is not just to get into a company but to get in the right group at the right level.
My brother took a year out of his undergrad to work for jaguar/ford in the development of a new car, now being sold as ford focus as well as take part in the work for the next generation S type.

I did tutoring for C/C++ but didn’t like it. basically I didn’t like C/C++ probably because of its static nature. I believe in “learning by teaching” so Now I’m tutoring Database systems using oracle 8i. yes …
I’m still a young, inexperienced “lil boy”
