ok I am an undergrad in Computer Science, have switched job like crazy.. recently worked as an instructor for an IT Institute teaching Java, C and C++ and now i am a Software Developer, in my university, re-developing the complete registration and email system of the university for students to use..

I am one of those unlucky ones that have come out of uni as IT graduates at the worst time possible.
I,ve just graduated as Bachelor of Information Systems from LaTrobe University Melbourne, Australia. I,ve been offered to do my honours,, but i,m not too sure if i want to spend(waste) another year in IT. I,ll b taking a couple of short certification courses from a pvt institute who then helps their student finding jobs. I,ll try my luck till the end of this year. If i,m still a lousy part time security guard by the end of this year, I,ll say goodbye to IT for good and might go back to uni to persue another career.
I was a pre medical student back in pak, did my Fsc from Cadet College Hasanabdal, and i was a gun at biology, so i might even consider going for a medical degree.
Right now if nothing works out in IT,,, i,m interested in going for a bachelor of Radiography and Medical Imaging from Monash University Melbourne, which is going to take 4 yrs... and i,m already 25 :-\
anyways,,, i see a lot of wise, qualified, and brilliant older guppies. I hope i can get some good n useful advice from them.
Is 25 yrs too old to switch my career from IT to the medical side?? wat wud u guys do if u were in my shoes? I must also mention here that i,m not too fond of programming or the development side of IT.
I,m even considering going for a full on medical degree to become a doc. but ppl think its kinda late for that. I personally think i,ll do it really well.... but am thinking is it really worth it,, studying for another 4 yrs,,, cos i,ll b close to 30 wen i finish.

First of all I must say that I have been very impressed by some of the introductions... mashallah most of us are really intelligent and qualified here... as for me, I have a masters in Computer Information Systems, have worked in the field of Information technology for the last few years (all the way from a systems analyst to a project manager). One fine day, I got a call from my university that they wanted me to teach a class... I loved it so much that now I am actually a full-time professor at a college. Anyone with any questions on IT or the current job trends, feel free to contact...

Well, I was in UET Lahore for a year before I moved to US. I was doing Comp Sc over there but changed my major to Applied Mathematics and Computational sciences now. I am juggling full time school Alhamdulillah with full time work. Its not easy and its slow, but hopefully what they say is true, that slow and steady wins the race:biggthumb. So, thats all there is to me.

soon InshaAllah I will have a full time job next to my studies.
After this, I dont know what I will do perhaps a year of doing nothing, and travel around seeing countries.
After that, no one knows, and I have no specific plans
I graduated in 95 from FAST Lahore (Computer Science).
Worked 2 years in CresSoft and 1.5 years in ABN AMRO in Lahore.
Now working with IBM Global Services in Toronto (Markham) since last 4.5 years.
Doing MOST (Masters in Software Technology) from UofT at IBM site. Hopefully it will finish by end 2005.

i started my schooling straight from 2nd grade...
i went to SAINT MICHAEL'S CONVENT SCHOOL in Clifton, Karachi, Pakistan from 2nd grade to 11th grade and did my O level's from there in 1996...
for a few weeks in 1996 i went to BEACONHOUSE, Margalla Campus, Islamabad, Pakistan for my A levels but that was very brief...
i did my A level's, which is two years, from KARACHI GRAMMAR SCHOOL, Pakistan and left in 1998...
i then came to STANFORD UNIVERSITY, California, USA and did my undergrad in Computer Science, I just graduated in 2003...
i'm taking a break now and plan to apply for masters for next yr...let's see where i land now :)
Lived overseas for 6 years, went back to Pakistan and did my FSC from Govt. College, stood second place in school. Migrated to USA with family and completed my undergrad in Electrical and Computer Engineering from UC (2yrs - Cum Laude) and CSU (3yrs) graduated in 2002.
Spent two years doing R&D.
Currently working for DOD and doing MSEE

complete matric in a government school 'at' my keulll city. Then moved to Lahore and completed FSc. from GICCL Lahore and gota move to Islamabad for BS (Computer Science). Currently doing BS (7/8) as well working in a Software House .............
I am preparing my mind and convincing my family to allow me to go abroad for MS lets see what would be the result ......

My initial schooling was not from any prominent school:)
It was a private English Medium School in karachi located in a 120 yds. of area named Imperial English Medium School.
I completed till class 1 in there and then went to Saudi Arabia for three months as my father was on the project of Hijrah Road.
When I came back I actually joined another school of the same kind:D Little Flower English Medium School but later re-joined my previous school to finish 4th and fifth classes..
Then I took an admission test for Metropolitan Academy, Nasirabad, Karachi and got admitted there in class 6th.
DID the metric from there and joined Delhi College, Karimabad, Karachi for Intermediate..
As soon as I got out there, landed in NY 
and recently graduated from Queens College, NY majoring in COMPUTER SCIENCE and minor in MATHEMATICS:blush:
